March Favorites: Recommendations

Image
So, it's the end of March, right? That should mean it's Spring, right? Funny story about that, March was more wintery this year than December. Life is weird, huh? Anyway, I'm still in winter makeup mode, whatever that means. I don't think I vary my makeup choices my season as much as other people. I tend to do my makeup to match my clothes, or, sometimes, I pick my clothes to match the makeup look I want to do. Regardless, I think my makeup favorites this month transcend season. This is what I was loving in March: Studded Kiss Lipstick  ( Wolvesmouth)  by Kat Von D  - I've been wanting to try out Kat Von D's Studded Kiss Lipstick for a while, and, a few weeks ago, I finally gave in and bought one. I picked up the shade Wolvesmouth, which is described as "metallic berry," and, so far, I'm quite impressed with it. First of all, it's a gorgeous, unique color. It's sort of a deep, berry red with a bluish, purplish shimmer. I have a lot of

March Empties

It's finally Spring! The birds are singing, the flowers are coming out, and the grass is growing! Oh wait...we just had a huge snow storm? JK, it's still winter. Which is okay because I've been loving winter makeup this year. Anyway, I used up a decent amount of makeup this month. I mean, it's nothing like the huge amount of makeup I used up last month, but I'm pretty proud of myself. I always feel a strange sort of vindication when I use up makeup. This is what I used up this month: True Matte Finishing Powder by H&M - I wrote about this product in my last haul blog. I didn't really like this product. I thought it made me look like cakey and dry; and I think it applies patchily (raise your hand if you knew patchily was a word; I didn't). Obviously, I used this product up, so it's usable. But, it wasn't for me. Better than Sex Mascara by Too Faced - I think everyone who has ever heard of makeup has heard of Too Faced's Better th

Reviews: Full Spectrum Palette by Urban Decay

I'd like to start out this review by saying that I'm way, way behind with reviews. For example, I think I bought this palette back in November...or wast it October? Either way, I've been meaning to review it for a long time. Ideally, a product should be reviewed when it's new, but I think you can still get this palette--actually, I think it's on sale on Sephora's website--so I figure it's still worth reviewing, in case you're thinking of getting it. Before I start the review, I want to acknowledge that I know that this palette has got a lot of bad reviews. In particular, a lot of YouTubers said that they were disappointed with this palette. So, before you buy this palette, do your research. Don't just purchase it on my recommendation. Now, the basics: you should know that this is a limited edition palette and comes with 21 shadows and a double ended brush. Currently, it's on sale on Sephora's website for $32, but it was originally $55 .

HUGE Drugstore Makeup Haul

Image
So, recently, I went on a huge drugstore makeup shopping binge (which, let's be real, is just a normal Tuesday night for me). And, when I say binge, I mean binge. Like, I'm a little surprised by the amount of new makeup I have, and I'm the one who bought it! I blame all the drugstore brands have just been coming out with so many new and exciting things lately. I've been seeing so many people talk about new drugstore products on YouTube, and it's just all so exciting that I just couldn't help myself (plus--let's be real--there were some good sales going on). So, I ended up picking up some things a lot of things from Ulta's website and from Wet n' Wild's website, and I just wanted to give you a haul of everything because who doesn't love a good makeup haul? It's like vicarious shopping, am I right? Anyway, you're probably going to look at all the stuff in this haul and think I'm insane. But, in my defense, I had a 20% off every
