Reviews: Born This Way Foundation by Too Faced

Image
Today, I want to talk about the newest addition to my foundation collection: the Born This Way Absolute Perfection Foundation by Too Faced. I'm going to start off by saying that I know that I'm super late to the party with this product . I mean, how long has this foundation been out? I feel like I've been hearing about it forever, but I think it's only been out for about three years or so. I've been wanting to purchase this foundation for a while, but I always held back in the past because it is an expensive foundation and it has gotten mixed reviews, particularly on YouTube. However, after swatching it a few times, I finally decided to cash in my Ulta points and buy it. I've had it in my collection for a couple of weeks now, so I want to give you a short review and share my thoughts about the foundation. First of all, let's talk about the details: This foundation is available in 24 shades , which I think is a good shade range, although it could be bet

February Empties

Image
For some reason or another, I ended up with a lot -- and I mean a LOT -- of products this month. So, let's dive right into the empties: Daily Hydration Moisturizer by e.l.f. - This moisturizer is the "salt of the earth," so to speak. It's a very basic, no frills, no nonsense moisturizer. I don't think it's the best moisturizer out there by any means, but it gets the job done and it's very budget friendly. If you feel that your skin needs a lot of extra moisture, you will probably want to opt for a high end moisturizer. However, for people with ordinary skin on a budget, I think this product will be a great buy. I've already purchased a new bottle of this moisturizer. B.A.E. Illuminating Face Primer by Lottie London - I  have to say that I really enjoyed this primer; it was very illuminating and it gave my skin a "lit from within" glow. If you're looking for an illuminating primer that won't break the bank, I think

Review: Dream St. Pressed Powder Shadow Palette by ColourPop

Image
Okay, so I DIED when I saw that ColourPop was releasing this palette. DIED. I love KathleenLights. I love ColourPop. I love eyeshadow palettes. Obviously, this was a match made in heaven for me. When I saw KathleenLights' video announcing this palette, I had to take a minute to compose myself before watching it. That's how excited I was. I knew before I watched the video that I was going to have to buy the palette. There could have been literally any set of shades in this palette, and I would have bought it. I trust KathleenLights' judgement and I like to support her, so I was willing to buy the palette no matter what. When I actually saw the palette, I wasn't super thrilled about the colors. I think I have warm toned eyeshadow fatigue. It seems like every palette these days is full of warm toned browns and reds, and I'm tired of it, and I have to say that this palette is on the warm side. Obviously, a palette being warm toned isn't inherently bad; it's

New to My Collection (February 2018)

Image
It's been a while since I've written a New to my Collection post. Basically, I write these posts to give myself a chance to talk about makeup products that I wouldn't normally talk about because I don't like or dislike them enough to mention them in other posts or do complete reviews. As a makeup lover, I'm constantly adding new items to my collection, and there's no way I could possibly review every product individually.  In any case, I have a few products to talk about that I picked up recently, so let's jump into it:  Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation by Maybelline - I've tried the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in the past, and I really liked it, so I thought I'd give the dewy version a try (I mean, come on, you guys know how I feel about dewy makeup). After trying both foundations, I have to say that I prefer the Matte + Poreless version. It's a little weird because the Matte + Poreless version isn't really matte;

Products I'm De-Cluttering in 2018

Image
I know it's not spring (oh how I wish it was), but I decided to do some spring cleaning in my makeup collection, and I'm de-cluttering a few things. I don't often de-clutter products; if I spend money on something, I make a genuine and sincere effort to use it up. Still, sometimes you just have to throw things out or pass them along to someone else. That being said, these are the things I've decided to de-clutter from my collection: Full Spectrum Palette by Urban Decay - I'm not mad at this palette, it's just that I never use it. I reviewed this palette about 11 months ago , but I've actually had it in my collection for longer than that. When I wasn't working in an office job, I used this palette fairly regularly because I did a lot of colorful eye looks; nowadays, I don't have occasion to do a lot of colorful eye looks, and, thus, I don't get a lot of use out of this palette. Besides, I have a ton of other colorful eye shadows scattered among
