Summer Favorites

Image
First of all, I'd like to apologize for not writing a favorites blog in approximately a million years. I think I last wrote a favorites blog in April, which is completely unacceptable. Anyway, I promise that I'll be better about writing favorites blogs in the future. The truth is that, on a day to day basis, I basically use the same products all the time, so I never feel like I have many new favorites to talk about. However, I have been using some really amazing products lately, and I want to talk about them. So, let's get into my summer favorites: Fame Palette by ColourPop - I recently wrote a full review of this palette , so you can read it here if you're interested. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like this palette, I've been using it on almost a daily basis to put together looks for work. I like cool toned shadows, so this is basically a perfect neutral palette for me. The formula is really nice too; normally, I don't really like ColourPop'

Review: Be Kissed By The Moon Eye & Face Palette by Essence

Image
So, I recently picked up the Be Kissed By The Moon Eye & Face Palette by Essence on a whim (which is how I buy most of my makeup). I'd seen it online before, and I was intrigued by it, so when I saw it in Ulta, I decided to just buy it and give it a go. Now, this palette is described as an eye and face palette, but, from my perspective, it's just a highlight palette. You could certainly use these shades as eyeshadows, but they're pretty sheer, so they'd be more like eye toppers. I've read other reviews of this palette, and I know that some people use the two biggest pans as blushes, but, from my perspective, they're too shimmery for that. Suffice it to say that I consider this to be a highlight palette, and that's the basis for this review. I'm not going to talk about how this palette performs as an eyeshadow palette or anything like that. Anyway, I've had this palette for a few weeks, I've used it a lot, and, it turns out, I really like

Review: Fame Palette by ColourPop

Image
In a twist that everyone saw coming, I've decided to expand my eyeshadow palette collection by buying -- get this -- another neutral eye palette! Who's surprised? This time, it's the Fame Palette by ColourPop. Now, this palette got a lot of hate when it was released, and I sort of see why. It's not a terribly exciting palette; neutral palettes have certainly been done before, and anyone who's interested in makeup already has a pile of palettes full of shades like this. That being said, I do appreciate that ColourPop released a cool toned eyeshadow palette in the midst of warm toned palette mania. Personally, I was intrigued by the idea of a cool toned ColourPop palette, so I decided to give it a try, even though I have a million dupes for the shades in this palette. I've now had the palette for a few weeks, and I've used it quite a bit, so I'm ready to review it! Spoiler alert: I really like this palette. The Details First of all, let's take

May, June, & July Empties

Image
As I've said before, I love writing empties blogs, but I haven't had a chance to write an empties blog in a while. So, I have a LOT of empties to talk about today. Let's get to it! Aventurine Crystal Setting Spray by ColourPop - At first, I wasn't the biggest fan of ColourPop's crystal sprays; I thought that they were just okay. However, after using the Aventurine Crystal Setting Spray up completely, I have to say that it did grow on me. The sprayer was not good at all; it left big droplets on the face. However, the formula itself was pretty decent, especially when layered with other setting sprays. I think ColourPop discontinued this spray, so I can't repurchase it, but I did like it. Amethyst Crystal Priming Spray by ColourPop - I have to say that I like ColourPop's crystal priming sprays more than their crystal setting sprays. They're very light primers, if that makes sense. I haven't really been into using a lot of primer lately, so I

Disappointing Products (Summer 2018)

Image
It's been a while since I've written a "Disappointing Products" blog post, which is a good thing I suppose. In general, I'm patient with makeup and I'm usually able to make products work, so it's rare when something truly disappoints me. However, a few products have fallen flat for me over the past few months, so I'm going to take some time to talk about them. To misquote the Festivus airing of grievances: "I got a lot of problems with this makeup! And now you're gonna hear about it!" Anyway, let's get into the disappointing products: Lasting Finish 25 HR Breathable Long Wear Foundation by Rimmel London - I picked this foundation up at Walmart because I thought it looked interesting (and it was cheap); I was especially intrigued by its claim that it lasts 25 hours. I mean, I've seen foundations that claim to last 24 hours, but I figured that something that lasts  25 hours had to be something extra special. Unfortunately, it

Bath & Body Works Haul

Image
So, Bath & Body Works has been having a TON of sales lately, which means that I've bought a lot of stuff from B&BW over the past month. So, what else is new? Like, if you offer me discounted lotion and candles, there's no way I'm not going to buy it. That's why I have a small stockpile of B&BW products under my bed that would last me through the zombie apocalypse (assuming I live long enough during the zombie apocalypse to need bath products). Anyway, I picked up bunch of stuff that I want to talk about, so let's dive into the haul: Shower Gel in Warm Vanilla Sugar - I'm sure I've written about this before, but I love B&BW shower gels. They're very concentrated, so you only have to use a small amount of product to clean your body. The Warm Vanilla Sugar scent is, from my perspective, a very neutral scent. It basically just smells sweet with a hint of vanilla. Shower Gel in Dark Kiss - As I said, I really like B&BW
