It's been a while since I've written a 'New to My Collection' blog. It's been a crazy couple of months for me. In the past three months, I've moved twice and gotten a new job. However, my life is starting to get back to normal, so I'm starting to get back to blogging! I haven't purchased a lot of new products lately, but I do have a few things to chat about.
So, without further ado, let's get into the new products:
Facial Spray with Aloe, Chamomile and Lavender by Mario Badescu - I picked this spray up because I have the Rosewater Spray by Mario Badescu, and I think it's very refreshing. I like to use the Rosewater spray before going to bed and on days I'm not wearing makeup; it's also a pretty decent priming spray. I was hoping that the Lavender Spray would be similar, but I have to say that I'm not crazy about it so far. My biggest problem with this spray is the smell; it smells herbal, but it doesn't really smell like lavender, and I don't really like it. I don't think it's as refreshing as the Rosewater Spray either; however, that could be because I don't like the smell. In my opinion, the Rosewater Spray is a better alternative; I don't plan to repurchase the Lavender Spray.
Makeup Remover Wipes by Cetaphil - I don't usually try out new makeup remover wipes (or, new to me, anyway). I have my favorites, and I usually stick to them. However, for some reason or another, I decided that I wanted to try out some new wipes, so I picked up these wipes by Cetaphil. I'm really enjoying them so far. They're very moist (which is a weird thing to compliment, but it's the truth), they take off makeup with minimal scrubbing and rubbing, and they take off all of your makeup. My only complaints is that they are not super gentle (I have experienced some stinging) and they have a chemical smell. Even so, I would probably repurchase these wipes.
Lip Exfoliator by e.l.f. - Nothing bothers me more than having rough, dry lips, so I try to exfoliate my lips fairly regularly. I have a lip scrub that I like a lot, but it's a little messy to use, so I wanted to pick something up that was easier to use on the go. I decided to try e.l.f.'s Lip Exfoliator, and I'm pretty happy with it so far.
I think I still prefer my Fizz & Bubble lip scrub, but I have to admit that the e.l.f. exfoliator is a convenient alternative. As you can see,
the product comes in a twist up tube, which makes it much easier to apply than picking up the product with your fingers and rubbing it on your lips. It does a decent job of exfoliating your lips, but the product itself is nothing amazing. It's strength lies in its convenience and ease of use. It's also extremely affordable (
only $3), which is a huge plus.
I picked up the Coconut flavor, which tastes/smells amazing, but there are a bunch of other scents available too.
Volumizing Lip Balm by Catrice - I was intrigued by the idea of this lip balm when I saw it; the idea is that this is basically a plumping lip gloss, but it's a lip balm instead. It has a minty scent and gives a tingly sensation, but it doesn't really plump your lips very much. In fact, I've tried it about seven times and
haven't seen any plumping at all. I'm not too upset about that because
it's actually a nice lip balm. It's also only $4.99, so I wasn't expecting too much from it. However,
I wouldn't recommend buying this if you want something that will actually plump your lips.
Let me know what you've recently picked up in the comments!
