Review: Tarte 9 Ways To Shine Cheek Wardrobe

Image
I usually do my best to resist buying holiday makeup releases. Often, holiday products have a different formula and aren't as good as other products carried by the brand. However, sometimes holiday releases are just too good to miss. I recently grabbed one of Tarte's holiday releases, the 9 Ways To Shine Cheek Wardrobe. As the name suggests, this is basically a face collection with nine shades of blush, highlight, and bronzer. I was primarily interested in it because 1) I like Tarte blushes and 2) the packaging was SO CUTE .  The shades come in three stacks that slide open and fold up as needed. Recently, I've been obsessed with things that come in this fun, folding packaging, so I'm really glad that Tarte released this product. I just think that this is such a good idea for travel and all that jazz. And, obviously, these little folding compacts are very easy to store, which is a positive change for Tarte considering their holiday releases are usually super

Summer 2019 Empties

Image
It's been a while since I've written an empties post on this blog. As you can probably imagine, I've accumulated PILES of empties since my last empties post, so today I want to talk about the products I've used up over the summer and if I'm planning to repurchase them. Let's dive into it! (I also chatted about these empties on my YouTube channel, so check out that video if you want !) Citrus Brush Cleaner by Sephora - I've had this in my collection for a while, and, to be honest, I sort of forgot I had it. Obviously, it's a spray brush cleaner from the Sephora collection. It's a pretty decent cleanser, and it makes your brushes smell amazing, but I don't think I'll be repurchasing it; Ecotools makes a much better brush shampoo that's cheaper. Fix + by MAC - I go through Fix + like it's water, which is a problem because it's very expensive water ($27 a bottle, cough, cough). However, it really is a fantastic setting spr

Am I Glistening Yet? Glisten Up Mist by Fourth Ray Beauty Review

Image
If you know me, you know I love to GLOW. I'm here for glowy makeup. I'm here for glowy foundation. I'm here for highlight. I love it all. So, when I saw that Fourth Ray Beauty was releasing their Glisten Up Vitamin C Mist , I knew I had to pick it up.  (In case you don't know, Fourth Ray Beauty is ColourPop's sister brand. They focus on skin care, and they're owned by the same people who own ColourPop. You can buy their stuff on the ColourPop website.) This product retails for $12 , and Fourth Ray claims it hydrates your skin and gives you a "radiant complexion." In essence, it's a glowy setting spray , although I think you could use it as a primer as well. The spray is infused with "micro fine shimmer" and Fourth Ray says it "delivers a subtle glow." I've had this mist for  a couple of weeks now, and I've had plenty of time to test this product out, so I can say with total certainty that this is one situatio

Limited Edition Makeup I'm Glad I Bought

Image
I recently looked through my makeup collection, and I noticed that I had several limited edition makeup products that I never managed to review. As you can't get these products anymore, I didn't think it made sense to write full reviews of these products. However, I did want to chat about them, so I decided to put together a list of limited edition makeup that I'm glad I bought: Shine Bright Cheek Palette by Lorac - This palette came out for the 2018 holiday season. I really love Lorac products, so I was immediately drawn to this palette. I was a little hesitant to buy it because I'm kind of on a low buy/no buy for blushes. However, I am glad that I ended up picking up this palette because it really is very lovely. A few of the shades are too dark for my skin, but the formulas are spot on. The blushes are very pigmented and the highlights give a really beautiful glow to the skin. I find myself dipping into this palette a lot, and I'm glad I bought it.

Disappointing Makeup Products: Fall 2019

Image
It's been a while since I've written a disappointing products blog. However, a lot of products have disappointed me lately, and I want to talk about them. So, without further ado, let's jump into it! Natural Face Palette by Too Faced - I picked this palette up during the recent Ulta 21 Days of Beauty sale. I was really excited to try it out because I heard a lot of people raving about it and recommending it in the lead up to the sale. I ended up getting it for 50% off, and I was really excited to try it out. However, after I used it a few times, I realized I have two problems with this palette: 1) the shades don't suit my skin tone and 2) I found the powders to be difficult to blend. They just looked a little patchy on my skin, and, for $44, those powders better blend beautifully. Now, that might just be a problem with the way the formula interacts with my skin type, but this palette just didn't work for me. bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer
