November Favorites

Image
November was a busy month for me. I feel like I say that every month, but it's really true. I've been traveling for Thanksgiving and generally getting ready for the holidays. Thus, I haven't been being too adventurous with my makeup lately. However, I do have a few favorites to share this month: I'm Glistening (Snowball Collection) by MAC - As I said in a previous blog post, I don't usually buy many holiday products from makeup brands because I'm often disappointed in them. There are, of course, some exceptions. MAC's holiday collection this year was a BIG exception for me. It's just such an incredibly beautiful collection; the packaging is to die for. You really have to see it in person to understand how lovely it is. Unfortunately, it sold out before I got a lot of the stuff that I wanted, but I'm hoping they'll restock. Fortunately for me, I did manage to get the thing that I wanted most: the lipstick in I'm Glistening. I'm Glisten

November Empties

I don't know how it happened, but I used up a ton of products this month! I guess that just gives me more license to go out and buy more stuff, right? Panda's Dream White Sleeping Pack by Tony Moly - The Panda's Dream White Sleeping Pack has got to be one of my favorite night creams of all time. First of all, the packaging is adorable. Secondly, and more importantly, the cream is really great. It's very light and refreshing, and it feels great on the skin. I will definitely continue to repurchase. Age Shield Face Sunblock Lotion SPF 110 with Helioplex by Neutrogena - I think I've been through five or six bottles of this particular sunscreen. I take protecting my skin from the sun very seriously, so I wear sunscreen on my face and neck literally every day and try to keep the rest of my skin covered while I'm in the sun. I love this sunscreen, not only because it has really high SPF, but because of the texture. Sunscreen can often feel heavy and greas

New to My Collection (November 2017)

Image
A few months ago, I started a series called New to My Collection, in which I talk about products that I've recently added to my makeup collection and what I think about them. I didn't get a ton of new things in November, so some of these things are from October. However, I want to talk about them anyway and give you my thoughts. So, without further ado, here are some products that were new to my collection in November: Infallible Blend Artist Foundation Blender by L'Oreal - You can stick a fancy name on a makeup sponge, but it's still just a makeup sponge and that's what this is. Personally, I think this sponge is just okay. However, I should say that I prefer sponges with a flat edge. I think this sponge is a good size, has good density, and is very good about not soaking up all your makeup. It gives nice coverage and all of that jazz; I just wish it had a flat side. That being said, I think it's a great value for the money ($8) and I would recommend picking

Review: Clay Play Face Shaping Palette by Tarte

Image
So, today I want to review the Clay Play Face Shaping Palette by Tarte. I know that this palette came out a while ago, so this isn't exactly earth shattering, new information, but I just picked it up recently, so I want to talk about it. It took me a while to pick up this palette because, when it initially came out, I wasn't that interested in it. But, after I saw YouTubers use it in videos, swatched it in the store, and read reviews online, I decided that I really wanted it in my collection. Sometimes, it takes me a while to really look at and think about the color scheme of a palette. Sometimes, I think a palette has a lot of shades I would use, and I buy it, only to find that I never reach for it, and vice-versa. It's a bit weird; anyway, the point is that it took me a while to warm up to the idea of this palette. On that note, let me talk to you about the idea of the this palette. This palette is designed to be a perfect everything palette. You're supposed to b

Unwash (Hair Care): First Impression Fridays

Image
So, for today's First Impression Friday, I'm going to do something a little different. I want to talk about a hair care brand called Unwash . Now, I want to be totally upfront here, I don't know much about hair care. I don't know how to style my hair, I don't know how to make my hair behave, everything I do with my hair is trial and error. However, I do know that I have somewhat challenging hair. My hair is very dry, brittle, frizzy/curly, and somewhat damaged. I only wash my hair once in a blue moon because it's so dry, but, when I do wash my hair, I often feel that traditional shampoos are a little harsh on my hair. I've been wanting to delve into the world of clarifying shampoos and co-washing for a while. One day, Ulta was having a 50% sale on Unwash products, so I thought I might as well try them out. I've actually had these products for approximately two weeks now, but I've only used them once because, as I said, I rarely wash my hair...
