October Favorites

Image
Is anyone else shocked that it's already October? I feel like this year went so quickly. On a side note, my favorite thing about October is the name of the month. October is called October because it used to be the 8th month of the year (oct being the Latin root for 8). October is now the 10th month because July and August (named for Julius Caesar and Caesar Augustus) were added when the Julian calendar was invented. We currently use the Gregorian calendar, but it's just a fun fact, ya know? (PS, the Julian calendar and changes to the calendar over time are super interesting; look it up some time). "October in the Chair" by Neil Gaiman is also one of my favorite short stories of life. That's all I have to say about October right now. I also used a lot of makeup in October; these are some of my favorite products from the last month: Cocoa Butter   by The Body Shop  - I have a long standing love for the Body Shop's Body Butters. They're super creamy

October Empties

Image
Empties blogs are definitely my favorite blogs to write. I always feel so proud of myself after using up a product. It's like a badge of honor or something. That's weird right? Like, I'm super proud of myself for using up not one, not two, but THREE packs of wipes. Anyway, weather it's weird or not, I used up a lot of products this month and you're going to hear about it. Tomatoes Clear Skin Detoxifying Charcoal Facial Wipes by Yes To - I wrote about this product recently in a disappointing products blog. Partially, it was my own fault that I didn't like this product. I thought that these were going to be makeup removing wipes, and it turned out that they were actually some sort of acne-fighting, cleansing wipes. Okay, fine. That's my fault for not paying attention to the description. I decided I would try to use these wipes to clean my face after removing makeup, and they didn't work for that either. I still had to go back and wash my face with a

Review: No Filter Concealer by ColourPop

Image
Okay, so I know that I totally missed the boat (is that an expression? I don't know) on this product. Everyone else has already been using this  concealer for like a million years, and I just got my hands on it like three weeks ago. I wanted to get it when it was first released, but those ColourPop restocks though! Anyway, once my shade was in stock for more than 2.5 seconds I bought it. As I said, I've had this concealer for a few weeks now, and I've had plenty of time to try it out and form my opinions. First of all, I have to say that I'm really excited to see ColourPop branching out into complexion products. I hope that this concealer is the first of many ColourPop complexion products to come! I think I would melt into a puddle and die if ColourPop released a foundation. That being said, I know that Colourpop has been criticized--rightly so--for the shade range of this concealer, and I do agree that ColourPop should release this concealer is darker shades. Unf

New to My Collection (October 2017)

Image
Guess who's back? Back again. It's me, with a new "new to my collection" post! This is a series I started a few weeks ago where I talk about products that are new to me but are not necessarily in favorites or disappointing products posts. I try a lot of new makeup all the time, but, unless it makes it into a favorites blog or a disappointing products blog, I'm unlikely to talk about it. So, I've started doing these blogs to give you more thoughts about more products. Coconut Curls Styling Milk by OGX - Girl (or boy, or cat; I don't know who I'm addressing here), if anyone knows about having dry hair, it's me. As I'm typing to you, it's been approximately 10 days since I last washed by hair, and it's bone dry. Not a drop of grease anywhere! So, I need serious help with hair moisture, which is why I picked up this product. I use this product after I wash my hair; I work it into my hair when it's still damp. Quite honestly, I don&#

Review: Crystal Sprays by ColourPop

Image
Guys, I'm glad I don't work for ColourPop because I can guarantee you this: the people at ColourPop are working late. They're working weekends, and they're working through their lunches. But seriously, ColourPop has got to be working around the clock to release all the new products that they release. I mean, I feel like every time I turn around, ColourPop. Case and point, ColourPop just released a whole new line of powder blushes. When I saw that, I was like "dude, you just released 10 million new brow products last Tuesday! How do you have the time to do this???" I mean, don't get me wrong, I love that ColourPop is always releasing new products. It makes it feel like everyday is Christmas! However, it is a little difficult to keep up with all their new releases sometimes, which is why I'm only getting around to reviewing their new (relatively) priming and setting sprays from their Crushed Crystal Collection . When I initially saw this collection,

Disappointing Products (Fall 2017)

Image
Today, I want to talk about some products that disappointed me. I don't like to be critical of products/brands for the sake of being critical, but I do think it's helpful to let other consumers know the cons of certain products before they buy them. In my opinion, it's always good to hear a wide range of opinions about products before purchasing them, so that you can make an informed decision. So, without further ado, these are some products that recently disappointed me: Dry Shampoo in Tropical by Batiste - I've tried to like Batiste dry shampoos; I really have. I just find them to be a lot of work to use. You really have to work them into your hair really well if you don't want them to leave a white cast. I've also tried to use the tinted kind, but found that the dye in the dry shampoo came off on my hands when I touched my hair. In my opinion, dry shampoo is supposed to be a time saving product that you use when you don't have an opportunity to wash
