KathleenLights X ColourPop Blushes: Review

So, a couple of weeks ago, KathleenLights collaborated with ColourPop to release a line of blushes, and I just about lost my mind. I've been eyeing ColourPop's powder blushes for a long time, but none of the colors ever really appealed to me. Then, Kathleen -- one of my personal makeup heroes -- came along and dropped a blush bomb of amazing-ness on everyone. How could I not be over the moon?

In their new launch, Kathleen and ColourPop released four new powder blushes and re-released the shadows from her Zodiac Palette as single shadows. Now, I love the Zodiac Palette, but, since I already have it, and I'm not running low on any of the shadows in the palette, I won't be picking up any of the single shadows. I did, however, pick up, two of the blushes.

I grabbed the shades Lunar Has It and I Need Space. Lunar Has It is a warm toned, peachy blush, and I need Space is a nuetral pink with a touch of brown and a subtle shimmer (KathleenLights described it as the blush version of the shade The Libra from the Zodiac Palette). Every blush in this complexion is $7, which is a very reasonable price in my opinion, especially since the pans are pretty big (I don't think I'll be using up these shades anytime soon, let's just say that).

The only problem is that these blushes only come in a loose pan; if you want a compact, you have to buy it for $2 extra. The compact itself is just the standard ColourPop compact, which annoys me because you can't see the shade name. I would have liked an option to buy these blushes with a custom compact. I know that a lot of people will probably just put these blushes in a magnetic palette, but I like to have blushes in individual compacts for ease of transportation.

I think the two shades I purchased will be crowd pleasers with people who have light to medium skin tones (I think the other two shades would be more appealing to those with deeper skin). I don't think the shades are super unique, but they're both very versatile blushes that will flatter a lot of complexions and a lot of makeup looks; I know I've been reaching for them all the time as I'm doing my makeup.

In terms of the formula, I think this is a great product. The blushes are very easy to blend, and they have just the perfect amount of pigment: enough to show up on the cheeks, but not so much that it's overpowering.

Bottom line, if you like these shades and you're in the market for new blushes, I would totally recommend this collab. If you have a large blush collection, you probably don't need these products, but I've certainly been enjoying them.

Final rating: 9/10
