Disappointing Products of 2016 (Part 2)

So, a few days ago, I published a blog called "Disappointing Products of 2016." Well, I thought that I had gotten all of my disappointment out of my system, but it turns out that I was wrong. A lot of cosmetic products have let me down this year, and you're going to hear about it (I mean, if you're interested or whatever).

Fix+ by MAC - I know that this will sound sacrilegious to some people, but I don't love Fix+. In case you don't know, Fix+ is a setting spray by MAC and it's a cult classic. However, for me, it doesn't work very well as a setting spray. When I bought it, I knew that it wouldn't hold my makeup in place as well as Urban Decay's All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray. I understand that Fix+ is designed to give a more dewy, glowing look, rather than just holding your makeup in place. However, it doesn't do that for me. I feel like it doesn't do anything for my makeup. I'm going to use it up because it was fairly expensive, but I'll be glad when it's gone.

Delete All by Formula X - I really wanted to like this product, but, alas, it was not to be. Delete All is a 5 finger nail polish remover. You're supposed to be able to stick your fingers into this product and remove your nail polish without any effort or scrubbing. Unfortunately, for me, it didn't work very well. I bought this product because Kathleen Lights talked about it in a favorites video a few months ago. She said that it took off her nail polish in a matter of seconds. For me, it never took off my nail polish entirely. No matter how long I left my fingers in, it never took off the polish around the edges of nails. I ended up having to clean up the edges with regular nail polish remover, which was annoying. Delete All also seemed to dry out my nails more than regular nail polish remover.

Geometric Highlighting Powder by Wet n' Wild - I have this highlighting powder in two shades (well, I had it in three shades, but one came broken and Wet n' Wild's customer service refused to replace it), and I just can't get behind it. Anyway, I have it in Where the Dreamers Go and Sun Ceremony, and they're both super glittery without much pigment. I really had high hopes for Wet n' Wild highlights, but I was seriously let down by them. All the Wet n' Wild highlights I've tried have been really disappointing. I guess I can't complain very much because I didn't spend a lot of money on them, but I certainly won't be purchasing more Wet n' Wild highlights in the future.

Rice Bright Skin Cleansing Paste by Pacifica - I am officially done with Pacifica products. I've tried to like them, I've given them a ton of chances, and I just end being disappointed. This "cleansing paste" (whatever that is) just didn't work for me. I felt like it was just something I was putting on my face. It made literally no difference. It didn't exfoliate; it didn't cleanse; it didn't do anything! The only reason I'm still using it is because I want to use it up (which won't be tough because it's such a tiny amount of product for the price).

Tres Jolie Gel Pencil Liner
by NYX - I was prepared to love this eyeliner. Kathleenlights like it, and, usually, that means it's gold. However, this product just didn't work for me. It was really hard and difficult to apply, and there was very little color pay off. Plus, it didn't last very long at all. Now, this could just be the way the liner reacted with my body chemistry, but one of my friends tried the liner too, and it didn't work for her either. It's sad that I never use this liner because it was actually quite expensive. I definitely regret purchasing it.

Wink Eye Pencil by Butter London - This is another eyeliner that let me down. I purchased four of these liners because they were on sale, but they ended up being very dry and crumbly and un-pigmented and annoying. Plus, it disappears almost immediately after I apply it. It's like I never even put it on! Again, this eyeliner might work for you, depending on your body chemistry, but it absolutely does not work for me.

Filter Finish Setting Powder by Laura Geller - For some reason or another, I've never been able to get behind Laura Geller as a brand. Their products just don't seem to work for me. This particular powder just didn't do anything for me. It didn't make my makeup or my skin look any better. It certainly didn't make me look "radiant" or "flawless," which the product claims to do. If I pay $32 for a powder, I expect radiance, gosh darn it.

Saucy Little Darling Lipstick by MAC - This is more of a matter of personal preference, but I really didn't this particular shade from MAC's Nutcracker Sweet Collection. In fact, I didn't really like this collection at all. I wanted to get something from the collection because I thought the packaging was really cute. I picked out this lipstick, but I should have saved my money. Online, this shade looked like a nice, coral toned pink, but, when it arrived, it ended up being bright, hot pink, which is not a good color for me. For someone who likes pink lips that are really, really pink, this would be a nice color. But, personally, I don't like it.

Paradisco Eye Shadow
by MAC - I think this eyeshadow shade is permanent, but I purchased it from the MAC Good Luck Trolls collection because it was on sale. I was really excited to see it on sale; I thought "what a pretty pink color and what a good price!" As soon as I got it, I realized why it was on sale. It's a pretty color in the pan, but it's not very pigmented once you get it on your eyes. You have to put it over a white base and then really build up the color. If you ask me, it's just a less pigmented version of Urban Decay's Fireball. If you're interested in this color, just pick up Fireball; you'll like it better.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my disappointment (ironically...). I hope the New Year brings you plenty of makeup!
