Winter Favorites
So, as you may or may not be able to tell, I've fallen off the favorites blogs band wagon. That's mostly because I haven't had a lot of new favorites lately. When I find a product that I like, I reach for it again an again, and it's tough for me to come up with a new list of favorites every month. So, instead, I decided to put together a list of my winter favorites.
This winter, I've been going for cool and neutral toned makeup. These are the products I've been reaching for all winter:
Blushing Hearts Highlighter (Goddess of Faith) by Makeup Revolution - If you ask me, Makeup Revolution makes one of the best drugstore highlights out there (of course, there are many great highlights at the drugstore). I have two of the Blushing Hearts Highlighters and they're both fantastic. I did a lot of traveling in December and January for the holidays and I brought the Blushing Hearts Highlighter in Goddess of Faith with me everywhere. It's a white toned, light champagne highlight. In my opinion, it's the perfect highlight because it goes with every look, and it's super glowy, but not blinding. It's a beautiful, everyday highlight for fair skin.
Goodness Glows Liquid Foundation by Burt's Bees - I wrote an entire review of this foundation in December. Personally, I think this is a beautiful foundation, and I'm very happy with it. It has light coverage and it's very natural looking on the skin; it's great for light/casual makeup days. I also really enjoy this as a mixing foundation. Personally, I love mixing foundations, and this one is great for mixing. Recently, I've been mixing it with my Acne Fighting Foundation by e.l.f. or my CoverAll Crème Foundation by Wet n' Wild, and I've been loving the result.
Snake Eyes by ColourPop - I think this is my favorite ColourPop single shadow. It's a great, neutral, brown-toned shimmery shadow. It's a good, "every day" shadow. I love to wear it all over the lid with a cool toned brown in the crease. I don't know that this is a super unique shade, but I like it nonetheless. I wear it to work all the time.

Naked Palette by Urban Decay - I think everyone on planet Earth (and some people on planet Mars) have heard of the Naked Palette by Urban Decay. It's not a new palette by any stretch of the imagination, but I have been rediscovering it this winter. I think everyone fell in love with the Naked Palette originally because it's so neutral and so perfect for every day looks. I've been going for a lot of bold lips paired with soft, subtle eye looks this winter, and this is the palette that I've been reaching for when I want to create that look.
Metal Shock Lipstick in Iron Maiden by Essence - Ever since MAC released the lipstick shade I'm Glistening in their Snowball Collection, I've been trying to dupe it. I love I'm Glistening so much, but it was limited edition, so I'm trying not to use it very much so that I don't run out (silly, I know). I probably should have bought like 12 backups when I had the chance, but now it's gone and it's not coming back, so I have to try to find a dupe. Essence's Metal Shock Lipstick in the shade Iron Maiden (what a great name), is not that lipstick. However, it is a shockingly pretty frosted pink. Now, usually frosted pink lipstick would give me a bad, early 2000s flashback, but I actually think that this one is very pretty and flattering. It's very soft and feminine, and -- frankly -- it's just pretty. I wear it to work all the time.
Tous Touch by Tous -I don't often write about perfume on this blog, but I want to take a minute to give a shout out to this perfume. I received this perfume for Christmas, and I've really been loving it. I find it difficult to describe perfumes in writing, but, according to the Tous website, "It is meant to evoke the soft lines drawn by the wind on the desert sands." It's quite sweet and floral, with elements of almond and vanilla. It's a really lovely, feminine scent, and it lingers f-o-r-e-v-e-r on the skin. I love it.
Voluminous X Fiber Mascara by L'Oreal - I'm not someone who usually gets excited about mascara, but this mascara got me excited. This is the first fiber mascara that I've ever tried, and I have to say that fiber mascaras are all that they're cracked up to be. This mascara makes my lashes look amazing. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. It makes my lashes so long and dark and voluminous that they look fake. Plus, this mascara isn't ridiculously expensive, which is always appreciated.
Let me know what you've been enjoying this winter in the comments!
