Is it Worth the Hype? Reviewing the Juno & Co Microfiber Sponge

If you watch makeup YouTube channels, you probably remember that a few months ago people were going crazy over the Microfiber Velvet Sponge by Juno & Co. If you don't remember or don't know, the Microfiber Velvet Sponge is basically just a makeup sponge "made with velvet-soft microfiber bristles and a slanted edge for controlled stippling" (according to Juno & Co.).

Anyway, there was a lot of hype over this product and everyone who tried it seemed to love it, so I wanted to try it out. Now, I know that a lot of the hype has died down (let's be real, the internet has a very short attention span), but I wanted to try the sponge, so I picked it up a few weeks ago, and I've been using it for a while. I think I've used it enough to have a pretty solid opinion on this product, so let's dive into the review!

First of all, I want to say that this is a pretty sponge. It just looks nice. It's a beautiful shade of blue, and it's very aesthetically pleasing. Now, that's not very important, but it is a nice bonus.

What's more important is how the sponge actually performs. Based on what everyone online was saying, I thought that this sponge would knock my socks off. My socks are still on my feet, but I will say that this is a very decent sponge. In terms of how the makeup looks on my face after being applied, I haven't noticed a huge difference between this sponge and my other sponges. I do think that this sponge made my makeup a little more matte and gave me a little more coverage. That's not to say that that's a bad thing. I like my other sponges, and I like the way that they apply my makeup, and this sponge is just as good (therefore, I like it).

This sponge does feel different in your hands though. When you pick up this sponge, you'll notice right away that it's denser and firmer than other sponges. Also, when you get this sponge wet, it doesn't really feel wet. It's very strange. However, the sponge does work, so *shrug*.

Also, it's important to note that this sponge is only $6, which is an excellent deal. So, I do think you get good value for your money. You do have to buy it on Juno's website, which is kind of a drag. However, it's really great that you can get a good quality sponge for an affordable price.

In any case, I think this product is worth trying if you're looking for a new sponge.

Final Rating: 6/10
