April & May Favorites: Recommendations
Spring makeup is just the best makeup. Spring always inspires me to bust out the terracotta, gold, and peach-toned products and create dewey, fresh-faced looks. Spring just makes me think of sunshine and flowers and light, and I like to bring that into my makeup. I've basically been creating a gold eye look everyday and pairing it with peach blush and a gold highlight.
As you may have noticed, I didn't get a chance to write a favorites blog last month, so this month is going to cover April and May. Without further ado, these are my Spring favorites for makeup.
Rainforest of The Sea Color Splash Lipstick in Colada by Tarte ($21) - I've been dying to try one of Tarte's new Color Splash Lipsticks for a while. The packaging is ridiculously beautiful, and it's been getting fantastic reviews. I picked up the shade Colada during the Sephora VIB sale, and I've been loving it every since. It's a nice, terracotta toned nude shade that pairs perfectly with a golden eye look. It's creamy, pigmented, long-lasting, and, as I said before, the packaging is gorgeous. I highly recommend picking up a shade from this collection.
Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Correcting Powder in Translucent by Physicians Formula ($13.99) - I bought this powder a while ago when Ulta had Physicians Formula products on sale. I've been using it as a setting powder. It's great for setting your under eyes or your entire face. It has almost a blurring effect; it makes your skin look super perfect and smooth. Plus, it's color correcting, so it makes your skin tone look very even.
Love Flush Blush in Baby Love by Too Faced ($26) - When Too Faced released their Love Flush Blushes, I immediately bought the shade I Will Always Love You. Ever since then, I've been wanting to pick up more shades. During Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty the year, I picked up two more shades. One of the shades I picked up was Baby Love, and I've been loving it ever since. It's a gorgeous, pale peach blush, and it goes with almost every single look. Plus, the packaging is adorable.
Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation by L'Oréal ($12.99) - I've been loving--LOVING--this foundation this month. It's just SO DEWY. I put this on my face, and my skin just glows. It's wonderful. The only negative thing about this foundation is that it's not super long lasting. It's so dewey that, by the end of the day, I start to look oily. However, for the first four hours or so, it looks fantastic.
Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel by Benefit ($24) - This is another product that I've been wanting to try for a while. I finally bought it on sale during Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty. Previously, I always filled my brows in with eyeshadow; so, the first couple of times I used it, I didn't really like it. I felt like I was able to be more precise and that my brows ended up looking fuller when I used eyeshadow. However, after I experimented with this product a bit and figured out how I like to apply it, I found that I really liked it. True, my favorite way to do my brows is with eyeshadow, but I often don't have time for that in the morning, and the Gimme Brow is a close second. It makes me no more than 60 seconds to do each brow, which is a huge time saver in the morning. If you're always trying to find ways to speed up your makeup routine, this would be a great product for you.
Nourishing Coconut Oil Weightless Hydrating Oil Mist by OGX ($7.99) - I'm often on the struggle bus with my hair. My hair is super, super dry and frizzy and difficult to style. I usually just keep it braided all the time because, otherwise, it will start to get frizzy and untidy. Because my hair is so try, I like to use oils to keep it smooth and soft. Recently, I've been using the Weightless Coconut Oil by OGX. I use this almost everyday, and it keeps my hair (relatively) smooth and soft; plus it smells amazing and the smell lingers on my hair throughout the day. It's also fairly inexpensive, so if you struggle with dry hair, I highly recommend this product.
Anyway, those were some of my favorites this month. Let me know what your April and May favorites were in the comments.
