June Empties
Guys. I used up a lot--A LOT--of makeup this month. And, when I say a lot, I mean A LOT. I used up so much makeup that I feel like my makeup bag is 10 pounds lighter. Just kidding, I don't keep my makeup in a makeup bag, it would never fit.
Anyway, get ready, these are all the products I used up this month:
CoverAll Face Primer by Wet n' Wild ($4.99) - I have mixed feelings about a lot of Wet n' Wild products, but this is one product I really like. This primer provided a great base for my makeup, kept my makeup on all day, and was decently moisturizing. I don't know what else anyone could ask for. Granted, I have "normal" skin (not dry, not oily, not a lot of texture issues), so I have good results with almost every primer. Even so, I think this would be a good primer for people with normal to dry skin, and, for the price, you can't beat it. There are some other primers I want to try, so I probably won't repurchase it right now, but I would definitely repurchase it in the future.
Rich & Foamous Body Wash by Soap & Glory ($10) - I'm a fan of Soap & Glory. I think their products are nice, their packaging is super cute, and their scents are AMAZING. Their body wash, however, is really just okay. This is the second bottle of Soap & Glory body wash I've gone through. These body washes have really great scents, their scents linger, and they do clean your body; however, I find you have to use a lot of product to really get clean. Normally, I find myself saying that a little goes a long way when I talk about products, but, in this case, it's the exact opposite. So, yes, you do get a lot of product for the money, but it goes so fast. Would I repurchase this product? Maybe, but only because I like the scent. It has a great almond/oatmeal scent that is super soothing and relaxing. It's a great thing to use before you go to sleep. (Also--side note--I love the name; it's so funny).
Opening Act Lash Primer by Tarte ($22) - Full disclosure, I don't usually use lash primer. Honestly, I don't really think it's necessary, unless you have very thin or very short lashes. If you have reasonably thick, long lashes, you won't see much difference between wearing two coats of a good mascara and wearing one coat of primer and one coat of mascara. That being said, I got this lash primer as a sample, and I thought it was really effective. It really did make my lashes look a lot longer. So, if you think you need a lash primer, I would suggest picking this up. Personally, however, I probably won't be repurchasing because my current mascara is keeping me satisfied and I don't think I need this.
Hello Lashes 5-in-1 Mascara by IT Cosmetics ($24) - So, this mascara wasn't completely gone, but it was getting dry and crumbly and I didn't really like it, so I decided to toss it. The mascara product itself was fine, but the wand on this mascara drove me crazy! The "bristles" on this wand were so short! And then there was like this spike ball of bristles at the end! I opened it, and I was like, I haven no idea what to do with this. The wand was super difficult to use, and it was so. I literally have no idea who this product was designed for.
Even-Touch Powder Foundation by Milani ($9) - I found this product to be very eh. Actually, I think I mentioned it in a disappointing products blog, so clearly I did not like it. I just found this product to apply very unevenly, which is weird because it's called "even touch." It didn't have very good coverage either. Normally, I wouldn't care that much about a powder having poor coverage, but this was labeled as as powder foundation. If you're going to label something as a foundation, it better have some sort of coverage! Anyway, I ended up using this as a setting powder, but I didn't like it very much. Even over liquid foundation, it ended up looking patchy and dry.
Grapefruit Correct & Repair Daily Facial Scrub by Yes To ($9.99) - I think this is the second or third tube of this product that I've used up. I love this as an every day cleanser. It's very gentle on the skin, but, at the same time, it gets your face clean. And, when I say clean, I mean CLEAN. Plus, it's cheap, and it has a great, fresh scent!
Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Correcting Powder in Translucent by Physicians Formula ($13.99) - Guys, I'm all about this powder. THIS IS IT! THIS IS WHAT A POWDER SHOULD BE! Gah, it's so good! I love this powder to set my face. It's like magic! I feel like it has a blurring effect and that it makes my face look perfect. I already have a back up of this powder, I will continue to purchase it, and, if you haven't tried it yet, you need to buy it too.
Pro Longwear Paint Pot (Painterly) by MAC ($22) - Guys, I used up an entire paint pot. AN ENTIRE PAINT POT. I'm so proud of myself. I think it took me a little more than a year--roughly 18 months--to use this up, and I used it almost every day. I know that lots of people don't like this as an eyeshadow primer, but I really like it. Personally, I like these sorts of thick shadow bases. I like my shadow bases to have a lot of coverage and even out the texture of my eyelids. I also have the paint pot in Soft Ochre, so I won't be repurchasing Painterly until I use that up, but I do love paint pots as eyeshadow bases.

Age Shield Face Sunblock Lotion SPF 110 with Helioplex by Neutrogena ($12.99) - As I've said before, I am very pale. Thus, I need sunscreen. A LOT of sunscreen. I wear sunscreen every single day, and this one is definitely my favorite. I find that most sunscreens have a thick, greasy texture that doesn't work well under makeup; this sunscreen, however, has a very smooth, non-greasy, moisturizing texture. It sort of doubles as a moisturizer, so it works really, really well under makeup. I highly recommend this sunscreen, and I've already purchased another bottle.
Take On the Day Mattifying Powder (Matte About You) by Wet n' Wild ($4.99) - Yet another powder that I used up this month was the Wet n' Wild Take On the Day Mattifying Powder. I really, really did not like this powder. I feel like this powder was just chalk. Seriously, if someone told me this product was actually powdered chalk, I would not be surprised. The texture is rough and scratchy, it's super uneven, and it gives my face a crazy white case. Like, I'm pale to begin with, but this powder gives me serious clown makeup vibes. Besides that, this product came with so little powder. I hit pan on this powder after like 3 or 4 days. I mean, it was cheap and everything, but still! The only reason it took me so long to use up this powder was because I didn't like it and, thus, didn't want to use it. Needless to say, I will not be repurchasing.
Fix+ by MAC ($24) - I've gone on a journey with Fix+. At first, I didn't really like it because I didn't think that it extended the wear time on my makeup (especially after using Urban Decay All Nighter). But, after a while, I started to appreciate how it made my makeup "melt" together, for lack of a better word. It gives your makeup a very nice, even, luminous finish. Then, later, I kind of got tired of using Fix+ and decided I wanted to try other products. Then, I used up by Fix+, immediately started to miss it, and repurchased it. Yeah. Quite a journey. In any case, I now have a new bottle of Fix+.
Pro Longwear Paint Pot (Painterly) by MAC ($22) - Guys, I used up an entire paint pot. AN ENTIRE PAINT POT. I'm so proud of myself. Makeup Brush Cleanser (Rosewater Scent) by Japonesque ($14) - I really enjoy this brush cleanser. It has a great, floral scent, which lingers on the bristles for days, and I find that it does do a really good job of cleaning my brushes. It even manages to clean my white brushes, which--for obvious reasons--get dirty and stained really quickly. However, I do find that I go through this product very quickly, especially when cleaning large powder brushes. I like it a lot, but I feel like I have to use too much product per brush. For that reason, I probably won't be repurchasing this product.
Makeup Brush Cleaner (Travel Size) by Cinema Secrets ($8) - I picked up this product because I needed to buy something else to get to the free shipping minimum on Sephora (you guys know the struggle). I used this up, but I didn't really like it. It had a strong, alcohol scent, which I didn't really like. Plus, I had to use a ton of product to clean my brushes. I'm not saying this was a bad product or anything, but, all in all, not my favorite.
Coconut Cleansing Wipes by Yes To ($5.99) - You guys know that I'm all about coconut. I eat, sleep, and breath coconut. So, every month I use up at least one packet of Yes To's Coconut Cleansing Wipes. I love them. They're great. You should buy them. That's all I have to say.
Anyway, those were the products I used up this month. Let me know which products you used up this month in the comments!
