August Empties
Okay, so I used up a lot of makeup in August. A LOT. I'm happy about that because I just moved, and, as always, I'm trying to keep the amount of makeup in my collection under control (how do you think that is going?). Anyway, this is going to be a long blog, so let's jump right into the empties:
Goodness Glows Liquid Foundation by Burt's Bees - I wrote an entire review on this foundation a few months ago, so I'm not going to go into a lot of detail here. Basically, this is a really nice foundation if you like light coverage, natural looking foundations. I liked it a lot for days when I wanted to look more natural and to mix with other foundations. If you like more natural makeup, I recommend looking into this foundation.
Age Shield Face Sunblock Lotion SPF 110 with Helioplex by Neutrogena - I've written a lot about this sunscreen, so I'm not going to go into too much detail here. Basically, I use this sunscreen everyday under my makeup to protect my skin. It's great because it's very light on the skin and makeup applies well over it. I already have another tube of sunscreen, and I'll continue to repurchase it.
Naturals Tahitian Gardenia Flower & Mango Butter Curl Defining Detangler by Not Your Mother's - I really love this hair product; basically, you just spray it on your hair, and it detangles it so that you can brush it more easily. I use it all the time, and I've already gone through a few bottles of this stuff, so I'll definitely continue to repurchase.
Drying Lotion by Mario Badescu - I picked up this product a while ago for blemishes. I don't often get pimples or blemishes, but I need something for the occasional times that I do. This is a good product; it basically dries out your blemishes, so they go away pretty quickly. I've already purchased a backup bottle of this product, and I'll definitely continue to repurchase it.
Loose Setting Powder by Dermablend - I bought this setting powder on sale because it had really good reviews on Ulta. At first, I didn't really like it. I thought it was too matte and it gave my face a really strong white cast, which was not what I wanted. However, I realized that it looked much better when I used less product, and I enjoyed the powder more after that. Even so, I don't think think this powder is worth the price. It's $27, and I feel like I've used drugstore powders in the past that performed similarly. It's also a very messy powder; the power itself is very finely milled, so it goes everywhere. I certainly won't be repurchasing.
Ultra Shea Body Cream in Waikiki Beach Coconut by Bath & Body Works - Man, does this lotion smell good. I actually picked it up last summer, but I buy a lot of lotion, so it took me a while to go through it. B&BW has a great formula for lotion; it's very nourishing, and it feels great on the skin. The Waikiki scent is great; it's a delicious, sweet coconut scent. If you like coconut scented things, you should pick this up.
Let me know what you used up this month!

Voluminous X Fiber Mascara by L'Oreal - This is a fantastic mascara; basically, it makes you look like you're wearing fake lashes. This is the first fiber mascara that I've ever tried, and I have to say that fiber mascaras are all that they're cracked up to be. This mascara makes my lashes look amazing. It makes my lashes so long and dark and voluminous that they look fake. Plus, this mascara isn't ridiculously expensive, which is always appreciated.
Flawless Finish Foundation by e.l.f. - I really enjoyed this foundation. I wrote about it in my favorite drugstore foundations blog. This foundation has great medium to full coverage and it gives a beautiful, satin matte finish. It's also extremely cheap, which is always appreciated. The only problem is that the shade range is absolutely terrible.
Fix+ by MAC - Okay, so I would bathe is Fix+ if I could. I absolutely love it. I drench my face in Fix +. It just makes your makeup look so good. It basically melts your makeup into your skin so that it looks dewy and natural and fantastic. I've been through approximately a million bottles of Fix + and I'll continue to repurchase it.
Fix+ (in Coconut) by MAC - As I said above, I basically bathe in Fix +. It makes your makeup look beautiful. I've been using Fix + forever, but MAC recently released three new scents of Fix +: coconut, rose, and lavender. I've tried them all, but coconut is particularly delicious. It smells like sweet coconut, and it's fantastic. I already have a backup bottle of Fix + (not coconut), and I'll definitely continue to repurchase it. My backup bottle is rose scented, but I can see myself buying coconut again in the future.
Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer by Maybelline - It took me FOREVER to get through this primer. Recently, I've only been using primer rarely, so I went through this very slowly. This primer was pretty good; I liked it a lot when I first started using it. It gives your skin a nice, smooth look. If you're looking for a cheap, pore filling primer, this is the one.

Light Source Illuminating Highlighter by Lorac - This is a highlighter, but I don't really like it as a highlighter, and I was actually very disappointed with it after I purchased it. It's been sitting in my collection for a long time, and I never used it because I don't like it as a highlight. I finally decided that I needed to use it up, so I started using it as a setting powder. It was actually a pretty decent setting powder, and it really made my skin like dewy and nice. However, as a highlight, I didn't like it at all, and I certainly won't be repurchasing it.
Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Correcting Powder in Translucent by Physicians Formula - This powder is just okay. I've purchased it in the past and didn't really like it in the past, so I don't really know why I repurchased it. The powder itself is supposed to be translucent, but it comes off very white on the skin. It actually makes me look paler than I am, which is really saying something because I'm pretty pale. In any case, I have another one of these powders, so I'm going to have to use that one up, but after that I won't be repurchasing this powder.

Panda's Dream White Sleeping Pack by Tony Moly - I've been using this night cream for a while, and I really like it. It's very nourishing; it leaves your skin feeling very soft and velvety. It also has a great, fresh scent. I really recommend this night cream.
Coconut Oil by Spectrum Organics - I use coconut oil on my face to remove my makeup; coconut oil is really great for the skin, and it makes your skin really soft. It's also really gentle and nourishing on the skin, especially if you have sensitive skin. I really recommend coconut oil as a skin care product.

Facial Cleansing Towelettes with White Tea Extract by Burt's Bees - I've been through about a million packs of these wipes. I like them a lot. They're inexpensive, smell great, and do a great job of removing makeup. I'll definitely continue to repurchase these in the future.
Coconut Cleansing Wipes by Yes To - I've probably written about these makeup remover wipes two million times. They do a great job of removing makeup and they smell great. I've been repurchasing them for years, and I'll definitely continue to repurchase these wipes in the future.
Conceal & Define Full Coverage Conceal & Contour by Makeup Revolution - This is the third or fourth tube of this concealer that I've gone through; it's not my favorite concealer, but it is a really nice concealer. It gives nice coverage, and it has a nice finish. It does crease a bit, and it doesn't give as much coverage as Tarte's Shape Tape concealer. However, if you're on a budget, I think this concealer is a good choice. I'll probably repurchase it in the future.
Fresh & Fit Awake Make Up by Essence - I really like this foundation; I wrote about it in my favorite drugstore foundations blog. It has a really beautiful, natural-looking dewy finish. It doesn't have a ton of coverage (I would describe it as light to medium), but it's perfect for days when you want a simple, more natural look. It's also a great mixing foundation. I would definitely repurchase this foundation, although there are a bunch of other foundations that I would like to use up first.
