My Favorite Drugstore (Cheap) Foundations

I am a strong believer in drugstore foundations. In my experience with makeup, you can get decent results with most makeup products if you have good techniques (excluding products that are just straight up bad). That's especially true of foundations, so I really believe that you can get the look of high end foundations without paying high end prices. I have tried a lot of drugstore foundations, so I think I have a good idea of what's good and what isn't. Today, I want to share some of my favorite drugstore foundations with you.

Flawless Finish Foundation by e.l.f.

Finish: Demi-Matte, Satin
Coverage: Medium to Full
Shade Range: Poor
Wear Time: 8 - 12 hours
Price: $6.00

I feel like this one of the most dependable foundations I own; it's got the perfect amount of coverage, it's not too matte, it's not to dewy, and it's fairly long lasting. I feel like I can just put this foundation on my face and not worry too much about it, you know? It's foundation that you can rely on. This foundation is just perfect for every day wear, just walking around in the world. It's also a really great mixing foundation. If I'm using a foundation that isn't giving me exactly what I want, I add a pump of this, and the other foundation starts to cooperates. There are only two problems with this foundation: 1) the shade range is absolutely HORRIBLE and 2) the wear time isn't fantastic. It starts to break down around my nose and mouth at the 10 hour mark; however, that's pretty common for me, so I don't hold it against this foundation.

Light Illusion Liquid Foundation by Flower Beauty
Finish: Dewy
Coverage: Medium to Full
Shade Range: OK
Wear Time: 6 - 10 hours
Price: $13.99

When Flower Beauty first came out, I wasn't really interested in trying the brand; it didn't really inspire me. Then, I heard a lot of people on YouTube talk about this foundation, and I decided to try it. I'm really glad I did because it's one of the best drugstore dewy foundations on the market. It doesn't have a very long wear time (I don't think it's really designed to be long wearing though); however it's super pretty on the skin, and looks fairly natural. It's also a fantastic mixing foundation. I find it to be very flattering in general. The only problem is that the shade range is not great, and all the shades seem to have a strong yellow undertone. All the same, in terms of formula, I think this is easily one of the best dewy drugstore foundations on the market.

Fresh & Fit Awake Make Up by Essence
Finish: Satin
Coverage: Light to Medium
Shade Range: Poor
Wear Time: 10 - 12 hours
Price: $6.99

This is, without a doubt, my favorite light coverage drugstore foundation ever. The drugstore doesn't seem to do light coverage foundations well. Really good light coverage foundations bur imperfections without looking too heavy and too much like makeup; a lot of foundations from the drugstore can't do that. This foundation does! It's SO NATURAL, but it's very flattering. Basically, it's your skin but better. It also has pretty decent wear time and resists creasing really well. The only problem is the shade range; there are only four shades, and they're all basically the same color with different undertones, and that color is PEACH. Anyway, I wish Esscence would release more shades, but this formula is really good.

Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation by L'Oreal
Finish: Dewy
Coverage: Medium to Full
Shade Range: Good
Wear Time: 6 - 8 hours
Price: $12.99

This is a really FLATTERING foundation. It has really nice, medium to full coverage, and it has a beautiful dewy finish. It just makes your skin look really healthy and dewy and pretty. If you like dewy foundations, this is definitely the drugstore foundation for you. The only problem is that it doesn't last very long on the skin. It starts to break down after about 6 - 8 hours on my skin; if you have oily skin, it'll probably start breaking down more quickly on your skin. I usually mix it with another foundation to make it last longer on the skin. However, if that doesn't bother you, I highly recommend it. The shade range is also pretty decent compared to other drugstore foundations.

Fit Me Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundation by Maybelline
Finish: Demi-Matte, Satin
Coverage: Medium to Full
Shade Range: Excellent
Wear Time: 12 - 15 hours
Price: $7.99

If you only want to buy one foundation for all circumstances and all occasions, I think you should pick up the Fit Me Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundation. It's a really versatile foundation, and it's really good for everyday use. It's got a really natural and flattering satin finish. It's described as a matte foundation, but, in reality, it's not super matte. The shade range is also really fantastic, especially for a drugstore foundation. If you're not big into makeup, and you want to pick something up that will work every time and doesn't require a lot of fuss, I think this will be the foundation for you.
