August & September Empties

Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation by L'Oréal ($12.99) - Dude. I loved this foundation. L-O-V-E-D it. It gives your skin such a beautiful, dewy finish and it's super easy to apply and work with. My only complaint is that it's a bit too dewy for my skin. Don't get me wrong, it looks lovely on the skin, but, after a few hours, it starts to get that oily look, which is not flattering. If you have dry skin, I'm guessing this wouldn't be any issue for you (I would say that my skin is normal to dry). If you have "normal" skin, this might be a mild issue, as it is for me. If you have oily skin, this is NOT the foundation for you. A good way of getting around the oil issue, however, is mixing it with another foundation. This is actually a fantastic mixing foundation (side note, I love mixing foundations together). I've mixed this foundation with a ton of other foundations, and it's always turned out great. My favorite foundation mix is this foundation with the Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation by Maybelline.

Nourishing Coconut Oil Weightless Hydrating Oil Mist by OGX ($7.99) - I have challenging hair. Everyone is probably rolling their eyes at me, but I really do have strange hair. It's half curly, half frizzy, kind of thin, very dark, impossible to style, and, most of all, DRY. My hair is so dry that I can go for almost two weeks without washing it. I know that that sounds gross, but it's just so dry that it doesn't matter. Anyway. I'm off my hair rant now. The point is that I have to use a lot of oil in my hair to make it manageable, and this is a really good oil. This is a really light oil, so I could use it almost every day without making my hair feel weighed down. It also smells great and makes my hair feel softer.  This is a great product.

Renewing Argan Oil Of Morocco Weightless Healing Dry Oil by OGX ($7.99) - Apparently, I'm the queen of hair oils this month because I also used up this Argan Oil from OGX. As I said, I need to use a lot of oil in my hair to make it manageable and presentable. I like argan oil a lot, and I've already purchased a new bottle of argan oil from a different brand. However, I would definately repurchase and recommend this particular oil from OGX. OGX is a great and affordable brand, and I think they deserve more love than they get.

Native Flower Nourishing Hair Oil by Pacifica ($14) - This is a product that I've had around for a while, and I haven't used it up before now because I didn't really love it. I mean, don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with this hair oil; it just wasn't something that I reached for, and I have other hair oils that I like better (and that are cheaper too). So, as you may have guessed, I probably won't be repurchasing this.

Thick & Full Biotin & Collagen Shampoo by OGX ($7.99) - I would like a round of applause for using up this shampoo. I've had this shampoo since Ulta opened in my town. Actually, I distinctly remember buying it at the grand opening sale. Guys, that was in 2013. Let me say that again: 2013!!! It took me four years to use up this shampoo, and I've been using it consistently. In fairness, I bought two bottles of this shampoo and two bottles of the conditioner at the same time, and I've had all four bottles open and have been using them all; I've also used other shampoos and shampoo samples during the same period of time. Plus, I only wash my hair once every 10 days or so. So, you can see how it took me four years to use up a bottle of shampoo. In terms of the quality of the actual product, I think this was a perfectly fine shampoo. I don't think it really did anything for me. But, then again, I don't use shampoo very often, so it's difficult to notice a difference based on shampoo alone. Even so, I would say that this is nothing special, but it is a good value for the money.

Shape Tape Concealer by Tarte ($25.00) - If you exist on planet earth, you already know about this concealer. I think this is the like the third or fourth tube of this concealer that I've gone through; it's  a fantastic concealer: super full coverage, long lasting, easy to blend, the works. I'm trying to use up some other concealers now, and I'm realizing how pampered I was with the Shape Tape. I'm going to be repurchasing ASAP because Nothing is as good. It's just not.

Age Shield Face Sunblock Lotion SPF 110 with Helioplex by Neutrogena ($12.99) - If you've been reading this blog for a while, you know that I love this sunscreen. Basically, it's the only sunscreen I use. I love this sunscreen because, not only does it have really high SPF (which, as a pale person, I appreciate), it has a great texture too. It doesn't have that typical thick, greasy sunscreen feel. In terms of texture, it feels more like a moisturizer. It also sinks into the skin like a moisturizer, so it's very easy to apply makeup over this sunscreen. This is a must have product for me. I've purchased it many times and will continue to purchase it.

Ultra Shea Body Cream in Fiji Pineapple Palm by Bath & Body Works ($13.00) - You guys know that I'm a big fan of B&BW products in general. I'm never disappointed by B&BW products, and this one was no exception. The Ultra Shea Body Cream is a great formula. It's super thick and moisturizing, and it feels simply wonderful on the skin. This particular scent was great for summer; it had a really rich pineapple and coconut scent that reminded me of a piña colada. Obviously, you can't get this particular scent right now, but I really recommend it for the future.

Clean On Me Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel by Soap & Glory ($10) - I've noted before that I'm not a big fan of Soap & Glory's shower gels. There's nothing wrong with them, I just think that they're not very concentrated, so you have to use a lot of product during every shower. For that reason, I prefer Bath & Body Works' shower gels, which seem to be more concentrated. That being said, I do think that this shower gel has a great scent; it's the signature Soap & Glory "pink" scent, which is famous for being very feminine and flattering.

For Daily Youth Moisture Lotion by Soap & Glory ($15) - This moisturizer was the definition of meh. It was very, very average. There was nothing wrong with it, but there was also nothing special about it. I didn't really feel like it was doing anything for my skin. In my book, $15 is very expensive meh, so I won't be repurchasing this.

Fresh White Musk Body Spray by Body Fantasies Signature ($5.98) - I can't get enough of this fragrance. Can't. Get. Enough. This is like the third or forth bottle of this fragrance I've gone through. It's my favorite fragrance of life, and you can get it at Walmart for like $6. It's a gorgeous, very feminine, white-floral scent, if you know what I mean. It lingers forever on the clothes and skin and is perfect for every occasion. If you like floral scents, you'll love this.

Coconut Ultra Hydrating Overnight Crème Mask by Yes To ($14.99) - This product has been one of my favorites for a while. In fact, I think this is the forth or fifth pot that I've gone through. It smells great, it's very refreshing on the skin, and it's relatively cheap. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a new nighttime moisturizer. However, I won't be repurchasing it because I'm trying to cut products with a high alcohol content out of my routine. Lots of people believe that using products that contain alcohol can cause your skin to age prematurely. Now, it's almost impossible to eliminate all products that contain alcohol from your beauty routine, but I am trying to make a point of eliminating skin care products that contain alcohol. If alcohol in your skin care products doesn't bother you, I recommend this product. However, I won't be using it anymore.

Coconut Ultra Hydrating Overnight Eye Balm by Yes To ($15.99) - The Coconut Ultra Hydrating Overnight Eye Balm is another Yes To product that I've been enjoying for a while (Yes To) is a great brand. This eye cream makes my skin feel soft and refreshed and it smells wonderful. It's also relatively cheap, and a little bit of this product goes a long way, so it's a really good value for the money. I'm already using my backup bottle of this product, but, after that, I probably won't repurchase it, as I'm trying to cut out products that have high alcohol content.

Grapefruit Correct & Repair Daily Facial Scrub by Yes To ($9.99) - I've gone through a few bottles of this facial scrub. It's a good, solid "basic" facial scrub. It's a product you can rely on, ya know? It smells good, makes my face feel really clean, and it's cheap. What more could you ask for? My only complaint is that it contains rough little particles, sort of like sand. I know these are meant to exfoliate the skin, but it's difficult to get them off after you've washed your face, and they get all over my wash clothes and towels. For that reason, I'll probably be trying out a new facial cleanser the next time around.

Cotton Comforting Facial Wipes by Yes To ($5.99) -  I wrote about this product in my last favorite's blog. I've been a big fan of Yes To's Coconut Cleansing Wipes for forever, but I recently saw Jkissa recommend these wipes. So, of course, I had to try them out. These are fab. They may even be slightly better than the Coconut Cleansing Wipes (*gasp*). They do a great job of getting all  your makeup off and they're very gentle on the skin. What else could you want?

August was a crazy month for me. I spent a big chunk of the month trying to find a new apartment, which was an ordeal. I also went to a conference for work at the end of the month, which sapped a lot of my energy. Long story short, I didn't get around to doing much blogging last month, which means that I have to double up on a lot of my blogs this month. This means that you get double the empties! Let there be rejoicing in makeup world!

Anyway, I have a lot of products to talk about this month, so let's get into it!

Coconut Cleansing Wipes by Yes To ($5.99) - I've written about these wipes so many times. So, so many times. As you guys already know, I love these wipes. I've gone through so many packs of these wipes. They do a great job of taking off makeup, they're cheap, and they smell like coconut. It's difficult to dislike any of those things; so, I'm going to keep buying Yes To wipes.

Anyway, those were all the products that I used up this month! Let me know what you used up this month in the comments.
