Review: Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer by Too Faced

The Too Faced Born This Way foundation has been one of my favorite foundations for a while. But when Too Faced released the Born This Way concealer, I didn't feel the need to run out and buy it right away. I have quite a few concealers that I enjoy, so I didn't really feel that I needed to try anything new.

However, when I started hearing some of my favorite You Tubers mention how much they liked this concealer, I decided that I needed to give it a try. I've owned this concealer for a couple of months now, and I've had plenty of time to test it out. This is not a new product, but I wanted to give you a review anyway because I know there are probably plenty of people who are still considering whether or not to buy this product.

In case you're in a hurry, here's a summary of this concealer:

Coverage: Light to Medium
Wear Time: Approximately 8 hours
Finish: Satin
Shade Range: Good (20 shades)

My impression of this concealer is that it was designed for regular people (by which I mean non-influencers), who want a product that is easy to wear in their everyday lives. If you want a concealer that's going to help you achieve the full glam, Instagram look, this is probably not the concealer for you.

This concealer gives light to medium coverage (with emphasis on light), and it has a skin like finish. If you're familiar with the Born This Way foundation, that all probably sounds very familiar to you. This concealer is very much the concealer version of the foundation. The "look" you get with this concealer is very much "your skin but better." I think it looks very flattering on the skin. However, if you love full coverage products, this probably isn't the concealer for you. In the past, I've been a big fan of full coverage concealers like the Tarte Shape Tape, but recently I've been enjoying lighter coverage concealers.

On the non-formula side, I have to say that I also really enjoy the packaging of this concealer. In design, it's very elegant. I also really enjoy that it has a large doe-foot applicator, a la the Shape Tape concealer. This concealer also has a pretty good shade range (20 shades), which I think is important.

There are a few down sides to this concealer. I notice that it tends to start to fade and break up toward the end of the day, so it's not as long lasting as other concealers in my collection. I remedy this by mixing in a dot of another concealer. This concealer also tends to crease a bit under my eyes. Again, I think this is very fixable if you mix in a little bit of another concealer.

However, on the whole, I've been using and enjoying this concealer a lot, and I think it's a product that lots of people would enjoy.

Final Rating: 8/10
