So, I want to try something new and different this month. Instead of doing a post about all the polishes I wore this month (as I've been doing since April), I'm restricting this post to just my favorite polishes of the month. After all, there's not much of a point to talking about polishes I didn't like. Hopefully, this will be a more helpful way of blogging about the month's nail polishes, and it will give you a better idea of the polishes I was truly impressed by. Let me know in the comments if you prefer this format!
Anyway, without further ado, here are my favorite nail polishes for July:
Virgin Snow by Essie - My first favorite of this month is one of my favorite Essie polishes ever. In fact, it's the only nail polish I own a backup of. (I bought the backup after KathleenLights talked about it because it was a limited edition polish, and everything KathleenLights talks about goes out of stock immediately). Anyway, for me, this polish is the perfect lilac/periwinkle. Honestly, it's unlike any other color I have. It's a totally unique blend of lilac/violet, blue, white, and a touch of grey. As you can see, it's a pale color; it has a distinct hint of blue and grey, but it's also obviously lilac. However, the formula of this polish is a bit difficult to work with. It's a bit streaky, and, if you manipulate it too much on the nail, it gets terrible bald spots. I usually have to do three coats in order to cover all the uneven spots. This polish was from the Winter 2015 collection, but I think it's also nice for summer and spring.

I'm With the Lifeguard by China Glaze - This polish is from China Glaze's 2012 Summer Neons Collection, and boy is it
NEON. Like, you can't begin to comprehend how bright this polish is until you get it on your nails. The picture below is the best photo I managed to take because the brightness of this polish totally confuses the camera. Obviously, because of the brightness, this is a perfect polish for summer. It glows especially brightly in the sun. Like all neon polishes, this polish looks best over a white base coat. I used two coats of Sally Hansen's
White On under three coats of
I'm With the Lifeguard. Also, like most neon polishes, it has a thin, runny formula and it dries matte. The formula makes it a little streaky and uneven, which is why I needed three coats. However, I think the formula is worth working with because the end result is so beautiful and bright. If you don't like the matte finish, I suggest you use top coat -- which is what I did for this picture.

Beauty Nap by Essie - A couple of weeks ago, I wrote
a complete review of Essie's new line of Gel Couture polishes. I bought the shade Beauty Nap for the purpose of the review and ended up loving it. Not only does it last longer than other polishes, the formula is good, and I really liked the color. As you can see, it's a nice, neutral mossy green with grey undertones. If you want more info about the line, you can see more details in my full review.

On A Trip by Wet n' Wild - This polish is an oldie but goodie. I don't know how long I've had it (at least since 2014, probably), but this is the sort of polish that's always in style I'm a strong believer in Wet n' Wild nail polishes; I've had nothing but experiences with them. This particular polish has a good formula; it covers well and isn't spotty. I did have to use three coats because I could still see my visable nail line at two coats, but it's cheap and it layers well so I didn't mind. As you can see, it's a nice, warm-toned lilac purple. Perfect for summer!

My Vampire is Buff by OPI - As you may or may not know, like many recent college graduates I am currently looking for a job. I had a few job interviews this month, so I needed an interview appropriate nail polish. I decided on this polish, My Vampire is Buff by OPI, because it's very neutral, and it's one of my favorite OPIs. (As you can see, it's an ivory, off-white custard shade.) Plus, it goes with everything and its appropriate for basically any occasion. Like most OPI polishes, it has a lovely formula; it's opaque in three coats.
