Winter Empties

Image
It's been a few months since I've written an empties blog, which means I've accumulated a TON of used up products. So, buckle up because this is going to be a long, long post. Personally, I really like writing and reading/watching empties blogs. I like watching empties videos because it inspires me to use things up, and I like writing them because it gives me a sense of accomplishment. Plus, it's nice to feel like I'm actually getting my money's worth out of all the makeup I buy (and, trust me, I buy a lot of makeup). So, without further ado, let's get into it: Dandelion by Benefit - I use up a blush very seldomly. Obviously, a blush is tough product to use up because you only use a small amount each time you use it. That's why I'm so incredibly proud of myself for using up the Dandelion blush by Benefit. Granted, it was only a travel size, but it was still a pretty big accomplishment in my book. I've been on a no-buy with blush for a long...

New to My Collection: January 2019

Image
It's been a while since I've written one of these new to my collection blogs. I've picked up a lot of new products recently, so I have a lot to talk about. Let's get into it. Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion by Clinique - I needed a new moisturizer and, fortunately, I got a sample of Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, which I've been wanting to try for a while.  I've only been using it for a few days, but so far I like it! It feels very nourishing and refreshing on the skin, and it's definitely helping me do battle against dry, winter skin. Overall, I'm quite happy with this product, and I think I'll be repurchasing it in the future. Megaglo Highlighting Powder in Caught In Your Web by Wet n' Wild - I was at Wal-Mart a little while ago, and I saw this highlight, and I was like "yeah, I'll buy that." This highlight is kind of a silvery, icy, purple-white shade, which is right up my ally. I...

Disappointing Products: Winter 2018/2019

Image
I'm glad to say that I'm not often disappointed by makeup products that I buy. I try hard to find ways to make products work, and I read reviews carefully, so I don't often buy products that are bad. However, sometimes products disappoint me, and I like to write about them so that others don't make the same mistakes. I'm not trying to drag any brands, and I'm not saying that you definitely won't like these products (makeup preferences are very personal), but these are some products that just didn't work for me. With that being said, let's get into these disappointing products. Emerald Obsessions Palette by Huda Beauty - When Huda Beauty announced that they were releasing new Obsessions palettes, I got really excited. I never bought anything from Huda Beauty before, but I really liked the idea behind these new, jewel-toned obsessions palettes. So, as soon as these palettes were released, I picked a couple of them up. Although I love the color sto...

Review: Royal Affair Palette by BH Cosmetics

Image
When The Royal Affair palette first came out a couple of months ago (I'm super behind on my reviewing, I know), my first thought was "wow, that's an interesting color scheme." For some reason, the shades in this palette really caught my attention. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't seen too many palettes with this sort of vibe. BH Cosmetics eyeshadow palettes haven't worked out too well for me in the past, but I was inspired by this color scheme, so I decided to purchase it anyway. I picked it up at Ulta; it's no longer available at Ulta, but it is for sale on the BH Cosmetics website. I do think it's limited edition though, so, if you want to pick it up, you should go get it soon. I've had it for a few months now, and I'm more than ready to review it, so let's get into it now: First of all, let's talk about the packaging. I think the packaging is beautiful. It's very sturdy cardboard, and it seems like it would be d...

Review: Disney Designer Collection by ColourPop

Image
When I first saw that ColourPop was coming out with a Disney collection, I forgot to breath for a few seconds. I was really that excited. I love ColourPop, and I love Disney; it was a match made in heaven. So, of course, I ordered a bunch of stuff from the collection as soon as it came out. Obviously, this collection is kind of old news now. It's been out for a few months, which equals a few years in the world of makeup reviews. Unfortunately, I'm super behind with my palette reviews, which is why I'm just getting around to it now. However, all the stuff in this collection is still available to purchase on ColourPop's website, so I think this review still has the potential to be useful to some people. Overall, I think this was a fairly well-round and well thought out collection, even if it wasn't terribly original. The shades of these products were fairly conventional (especially the eyeshadows and lipsticks), and I think a lot of makeup lovers probably have com...
