Reviews: Fall Into Frost Palette

I've been dying to buy a Morphe palette forever, and this month I finally ordered one! I am now the proud owner of the Morphe Fall into Frost Palette (35F), and I think I might be in love.  It's absolutely gorgeous. GORGEOUS. I don't know why it took me so long to buy a this palette; I've barely even thought about my other palettes since I got it.

First of all, I can't emphasis enough what a great value this palette is. It costs $22.99 and comes with 35 shades; that's less than a dollar per shadow (not including shipping). I don't want to exaggerate, but that is a STUPENDOUS deal.

More importantly, however, the shadows have a great formula. They are all super, super pigmented. This is especially true of the shimmer shades; it's insane how glittery and pigmented and pretty they are. Like, they're almost too pigmented (I mean, if such a thing exists). One swipe on your eyelid = full pigmentation. There is no such thing as building these shadows up; you put these shadows on and it's just like "BOOM, pigment." This is a tad problematic if you want to create a more subtle look, but I love it. Nothing bothers me more than eyeshadows that are really pretty in the pan and have no pigmentation when you swatch them. With these shadows, the color in the pan is the color you get on your lid, and you get that color in one swipe. It's seriously amazing. I am so, so impressed.

Plus, there's almost no fall out (which is rare for dark shadows) and they're fairly blendable. Honestly, I would prefer the shadows to be a little more creamy and a little easier to blend, but I'm willing to ignore that because theses shadows are so insanely pretty. It's true that the texture of Too Faced and Urban Decay shadows is better and more creamy, but these shadows are also a fraction of the price, so I'm willing to work with this formula.

There are a couple of things I don't like about this palette though. First of all, I don't love the packaging. It's plastic, and it just feels very cheap and flimsy. Plus, there's no mirror in this palette. I don't use the mirrors in palettes, so I don't really care. However, if you use palette mirrors, this might matter to you.

Secondly, I wish this palette had a couple more matte shades. True, I have lots of other matte shades in other palettes. However, when I use this palette, I always find myself reaching for a matte white or a matte red, and then I remember that this palette doesn't have those shades. It's not a problem if you have other matte eyeshadows (which, if you're a makeup fan, you probably do). However, it's something to be aware of.

The other thing that bothers me is that these shadows don't have names. It always annoys me when shadows don't have names because I don't know how to refer to them, and I find it more difficult to remember which shadows I used to create specific looks. For example, it's much more difficult to remember that I used the second shadow from the right in the third row than it is to remember that I used Fireball. Because I'm a geek, I gave these shadows names for my own personal use. And, because I'm a geek, I made those names Game of Thrones inspired. I'm attaching a picture of the palette with the names below in case you too are annoyed by the fact that these shadows don't have names. Your welcome/ I'm sorry if you don't like Game of Thrones.

In conclusion, I really love this palette, and I think it's definitely worth the money. There are a couple of problems with this palette, but, for me, they're not major. Final rating: 9/10
