October Favorites
I don't know about you, but October went past pretty quickly for me. I feel like I say this a lot, but I feel like I blinked my eyes and October was gone. I tried quite a bit of new makeup in October, which I'm working on reviewing now. However, I do have some new favorites this month, and I'm excited to share them with you, so let's dive in:
Climax Mascara by NARS - I've been hearing about how great NARS' Climax Mascara is for a while. I finally got a sample from Sephora, and, let me tell you, it is not over-hyped. It is a really, really nice product. The mascara really makes your lashes look very full and long and "fluffy" for lack of a better word. It's a gorgeous and very flattering mascara, and I understand why so many people love it. I've been really enjoying this mascara this month, but I don't think I can justify repurchasing it because of the price. I get so many sample mascaras, and there are so many good quality, cheap mascaras out there, that I just can't justify purchasing a full size of this mascara. However, if you are looking for a mascara to splurge on, this would be a good pick.
Audacious Lipstick in Anna by NARS - This is another NARS product that I couldn't justify spending money on for a long time, and for good reason; this is an extremely expensive lipstick. However, I've been wanting to try it for a long time, and I had a gift card, so I just thought "why not." I've been using it for a while, and I've come to this conclusion: this is the best lipstick formula that exists. Period. End of story. It's super pigmented. It's super creamy. It glides on to the lips like a dream. It fades very naturally, and it looks very natural and flattering on the skin. It's just a perfect formula. I don't know what else to say. I picked up the shade Anna, which is kind of a smokey, brown-toned pink. It's stunning and gorgeous on the lips. If you're looking to splurge on a lipstick, this would be a good pick.
Cocoa Woods Eau de Parfum by Nest - This was another sample that I got from Sephora. I've been interested in Nest fragrances for a while, and I was excited to finally get an opportunity to try one. This is a really interesting scent. It's got some musk and some earthy undertones, but it also has this sweet hint of cocoa. It's very unique, and I feel like it's really good for fall. It's good that I got it as a sample because there was no way I could justify paying full price for it. If I want to buy an expensive perfume, I usually wait until I have a lot of Ulta points and then cash them in for a new scent. In fact, I think the first thing I ever bought with Ulta points was Miss Dior by Dior. Unfortunately, Nest is not sold at Ulta. In any case, if you're wanting to splurge (which seems to be the theme of this pose), I highly recommend this scent. (Plus, the packaging is super cute).
Bite Birthday Set (Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Chai and Matte Lip Crayon in Glace) by Bite Beauty - For my birthday this year, I got the Sephora birthday gift, per usual. This year, I selected the Bite Beauty lip set option, which came with a mini Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Chai and Matte Lip Crayon in Glace. I LOVE both of these shades. Glace is kind of a warm, brownish nude, and Chai is a brown, plum-toned nude. They're both fantastic, everyday shades that pair with a lot of different looks. I've been wearing them all the time!
