Disappointing Makeup Products: Fall 2019

Image
It's been a while since I've written a disappointing products blog. However, a lot of products have disappointed me lately, and I want to talk about them. So, without further ado, let's jump into it! Natural Face Palette by Too Faced - I picked this palette up during the recent Ulta 21 Days of Beauty sale. I was really excited to try it out because I heard a lot of people raving about it and recommending it in the lead up to the sale. I ended up getting it for 50% off, and I was really excited to try it out. However, after I used it a few times, I realized I have two problems with this palette: 1) the shades don't suit my skin tone and 2) I found the powders to be difficult to blend. They just looked a little patchy on my skin, and, for $44, those powders better blend beautifully. Now, that might just be a problem with the way the formula interacts with my skin type, but this palette just didn't work for me. bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer...

Winter Empties

Image
It's been a few months since I've written an empties blog, which means I've accumulated a TON of used up products. So, buckle up because this is going to be a long, long post. Personally, I really like writing and reading/watching empties blogs. I like watching empties videos because it inspires me to use things up, and I like writing them because it gives me a sense of accomplishment. Plus, it's nice to feel like I'm actually getting my money's worth out of all the makeup I buy (and, trust me, I buy a lot of makeup). So, without further ado, let's get into it: Dandelion by Benefit - I use up a blush very seldomly. Obviously, a blush is tough product to use up because you only use a small amount each time you use it. That's why I'm so incredibly proud of myself for using up the Dandelion blush by Benefit. Granted, it was only a travel size, but it was still a pretty big accomplishment in my book. I've been on a no-buy with blush for a long...

Review: Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation by Benefit

Image
So, a few months ago, Benefit released a new foundation called the Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation. At first, I wasn't really interested in trying out the foundation, but then I saw that they were selling a travel size for only $10, so I thought I might as well try it out. I have been really into trying foundations lately, and I do like Benefit as a brand, so I thought this would be a good foundation to try out. To give you some background, this foundation comes in 12 shades and costs $29. Benefit describes it as a foundation that "looks like skin and feels like nothing at all." I've been using it for a few weeks, and I think that that's a very accurate description. This is a very light coverage foundation that's designed to give the "your skin but better" look. This foundation is true to its description for sure. However, I'm not sure how I feel about the formula overall. I went back and forth a few times about this foundation. At first, ...

Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Haul

Image
Some people say that the most wonderful time of the year is Christmas. I disagree. I think the most wonderful time of the year is the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty sale. It's just such an exciting and fun way to pick up and try different makeup and skin care products. Ulta's bi-annual 21 Days of Beauty sale just recently ended, and I picked up a lot of stuff--way more stuff than I should have, actually. Anyway, today we're going to do a good old-fashioned haul with the stuff that I picked up during the sale. Let's get into it! Double Duty Beauty Empowered Hybrid Gel Foundation by Tarte - I've been wanting to try this foundation for a long time. In fact, I think I've had my eye on it since the last 21 Days of Beauty sale. I swatched it in Ulta, and I was intrigued by the texture, so I've been dying to play with it. I have mixed thoughts about this foundation. You definitely have to work with this foundation a bit; it doesn't have super full coverage and it...
