May, June, & July Empties

Image
As I've said before, I love writing empties blogs, but I haven't had a chance to write an empties blog in a while. So, I have a LOT of empties to talk about today. Let's get to it! Aventurine Crystal Setting Spray by ColourPop - At first, I wasn't the biggest fan of ColourPop's crystal sprays; I thought that they were just okay. However, after using the Aventurine Crystal Setting Spray up completely, I have to say that it did grow on me. The sprayer was not good at all; it left big droplets on the face. However, the formula itself was pretty decent, especially when layered with other setting sprays. I think ColourPop discontinued this spray, so I can't repurchase it, but I did like it. Amethyst Crystal Priming Spray by ColourPop - I have to say that I like ColourPop's crystal priming sprays more than their crystal setting sprays. They're very light primers, if that makes sense. I haven't really been into using a lot of primer lately, so I...

January Empties

Happy 2018! I don't know about you, but I can't believe it's already 2018. Seriously guys, I feel like the year 2000 was like yesterday. When did it become 2018?? I feel old.  Anyway, now that I've needlessly complained about the passage of time, let's get to my empties from January. I feel like I used up a ton of products this month, so we have a lot to talk about.  Coconut Ultra Hydrating Overnight Eye Balm by Yes To - I think I've used three or four bottles of Yes To's Coconut Ultra Hydrating Overnight Eye Balm. I really like this product; it smells great and it hydrates and softens the skin around my eyes. However, I'm not going to repurchase it because this product contains alcohol, and I'm trying to eliminate alcohol from my skin care products. I do think it's a good product, so, if you don't mind alcohol in your skin care products, I would recommend this product to you. Keratin Mist Leave-In Strengthening Treatment by Ch...

Disappointing Products (Spring 2017)

Image
So, a few months ago, I wrote two blog posts about disappointing products that I tried. I had so much fun venting about those disappointing products that I decided to do it again! Let's face it, it's nice to talk about products you like, but it's cathartic to talk about products you hate. This is probably obvious, but I'm not trying to hate on you if you like some of these products. Different products work differently for different people. Products that work for me might not work for you and vice versa. With that being said, these are some products that didn't work for me: Intuitive Blend Shade-Adjusting Foundation by Wet n' Wild ($5.99) - I cannot overstate how much I dislike this product. Usually, when I have a product I don't like, I do my best to use it anyway, and I'm usually able to make it work. I can't do ANYTHING with this product. When I saw it on Wet n' Wild's website, I thought it was a great idea. I mean, a self-adjusting f...

March Empties

It's finally Spring! The birds are singing, the flowers are coming out, and the grass is growing! Oh wait...we just had a huge snow storm? JK, it's still winter. Which is okay because I've been loving winter makeup this year. Anyway, I used up a decent amount of makeup this month. I mean, it's nothing like the huge amount of makeup I used up last month, but I'm pretty proud of myself. I always feel a strange sort of vindication when I use up makeup. This is what I used up this month: True Matte Finishing Powder by H&M - I wrote about this product in my last haul blog. I didn't really like this product. I thought it made me look like cakey and dry; and I think it applies patchily (raise your hand if you knew patchily was a word; I didn't). Obviously, I used this product up, so it's usable. But, it wasn't for me. Better than Sex Mascara by Too Faced - I think everyone who has ever heard of makeup has heard of Too Faced's Better th...

HUGE Drugstore Makeup Haul

Image
So, recently, I went on a huge drugstore makeup shopping binge (which, let's be real, is just a normal Tuesday night for me). And, when I say binge, I mean binge. Like, I'm a little surprised by the amount of new makeup I have, and I'm the one who bought it! I blame all the drugstore brands have just been coming out with so many new and exciting things lately. I've been seeing so many people talk about new drugstore products on YouTube, and it's just all so exciting that I just couldn't help myself (plus--let's be real--there were some good sales going on). So, I ended up picking up some things a lot of things from Ulta's website and from Wet n' Wild's website, and I just wanted to give you a haul of everything because who doesn't love a good makeup haul? It's like vicarious shopping, am I right? Anyway, you're probably going to look at all the stuff in this haul and think I'm insane. But, in my defense, I had a 20% off every...
