HUGE Drugstore Makeup Haul

So, recently, I went on a huge drugstore makeup shopping binge (which, let's be real, is just a normal Tuesday night for me). And, when I say binge, I mean binge. Like, I'm a little surprised by the amount of new makeup I have, and I'm the one who bought it! I blame all the drugstore brands have just been coming out with so many new and exciting things lately. I've been seeing so many people talk about new drugstore products on YouTube, and it's just all so exciting that I just couldn't help myself (plus--let's be real--there were some good sales going on).

So, I ended up picking up some things a lot of things from Ulta's website and from Wet n' Wild's website, and I just wanted to give you a haul of everything because who doesn't love a good makeup haul? It's like vicarious shopping, am I right?

Anyway, you're probably going to look at all the stuff in this haul and think I'm insane. But, in my defense, I had a 20% off everything coupon from Ulta, Wet n' Wild was having 25% off for Valentine's Day, and Ulta was having a whole bunch of other sales and buy one get one type of offers, so I just thought "why not?" I mean, let's be real, I was going to buy all this stuff eventually. Why not now?

I haven't tried everything in this haul yet, but, if I have tried the product, I'm going to give you a mini review and give you my first impressions.

Face

Infallible Pro-Matte 16HR Powder (Porcelain) by L'Oréal ($12.99) - Let's be real, I'm a powder person. I love powder foundations; I love setting powders; I'm all about powder. In particular, I'm all about that drugstore powder. I'm always willing to try out drugstore powders (as you're going to see in this post), so I picked up this L'Oréal powder. I haven't actually used this powder yet. In person, It looks a little too warm for my skin tone, but I'm going to try it out, and I'll keep you posted!

Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation (Classic Ivory 101) by L'Oréal ($12.99) - I picked this foundation up because I'm always on the hunt for good drugstore foundations (and because, as I've already said, I was on a L'Oréal buying rampage). I've used this foundation a couple of times, and, so far, I really like it. It has medium to full coverage, it doesn't really oxidize, it lasts all day, and it has a really nice, demi-matte finish. I appreciate the demi-matte coverage because matte foundations can often look really dry and powder; this foundation gives you skin a more natural finish, while also giving it the nice, smooth matte look. Also, this holds up really well for a drugstore foundation. I mean, when they say 24HR foundation, they mean it. I can wear this foundation from 7AM to 10PM, and it still looks good at the end of the day. I do notice a tiny bit of breakdown around the mouth (mostly from eating), nose, and chin. However, you'd really have to be looking pretty closely to notice it. If I was just looking at someone casually, I probably wouldn't notice at all.

Infallible Total Cover Foundation (Classic Ivory) by L'Oréal ($12.99) - Here are two words I like in regard to foundation: TOTAL COVER. I mean, sometimes I like a foundation with light coverage, but I never say no to a good, full coverage foundation. I haven't tried this out yet, but I have high hopes for it.

Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation (Classic Ivory) by L'Oréal ($12.99) - I bought this because I saw a couple of people recommend it on YouTube. To me, it sounds like a great product. 24 hour coverage?Check. Radiant finish? Check. SPF? Check. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm really excited to experiment with it.

Hi Definition Photo Concealer Wand (Alabaster) by NYX ($4.99) - I bought this concealer because it had really good reviews on Ulta. Plain and simple. I'm always trying to stock up on concealer because I live in fear of running out of my Tarte Shape Tape and not being able to repurchase because it's sold out. So, even though I basically only use Shape Tape, I like to have a couple of decent drug store concealers lying around--just in case I get into a spot of bother. I'm not exactly sure if I bought the right shade. I figured that I was either Alabaster or Porcelain, and it's tough to tell online, so I just decided I was Ababaster. One thing I like about this concealer is that there are actually a lot of shades to choose from. I feel like a lot of drugstore concealers have a very limited shade selection. I know that a lot of people with deeper skin tones really struggle with the limited shade selection, and I myself often struggle to find drugstore concealers that are light enough for my skin tone and have the right undertone. So, I appreciate that NYX is trying to provide options for everyone.

Pro Foundation Mixer (White) by NYX ($9.99) - I've been wanting to try foundation mixers for a while. Often, I find that foundations and concealers are too dark for me or, more often, too warm toned for me, and I think having a white mixer on hand could be really handy. I haven't tried this product out yet, but I'll definitely be pulling it out the next time I run into a foundation that's too dark  or too warm for me.

Take On the Day Mattifying Powder (Matte About You) by Wet n' Wild ($4.99) - I bought this because, as I said above, I'm always on the hunt for a good drug store powder. Well, this powder is not it. Although this powder looks white in the pan, I just assumed it would be translucent, which, you know, is normal. Anyway, I think it was supposed to be translucent, but it's not really. It just looks white on your face. I mean, it's not like you're wearing clown makeup or anything, but it gives you face a whitish cast. Plus, the texture is super weird and chalky. I don't know how to describe it, but I don't like it, and it does nothing for my skin. This product might be really good for an oily person, but it does not work for me.

CoverAll Pressed Powder (Fair) by Wet n' Wild ($2.99) - As I said, I'm always out to find good drugstore powders. This one looks promising. I mean, it's a tinted, pressed powder. What's not to like about that? I haven't heard any good reviews on it or anything like that; I just saw it and decided to buy it. That's the thing about Wet n' Wild, everything is so cheap that you just think "eh, why not" and buy it. I will say that this is much smaller in real life than it looks online; but it only costs like $3, so I'm not mad at it.

CoverAll Crème Foundation (Fair) by Wet n' Wild ($3.99) - This is another Wet n' Wild impulse buy. I just thought "cover all? I want to cover all! I mean, that's the purpose of foundation, right?" I haven't tried it yet, but I'll keep you posted.

CoverAll Face Primer by Wet n' Wild ($4.99) - You can never have too many primers, right? I'm very lucky in that most primers work for me; I hardly ever come across a primer I don't like. So, I have high hopes for this primer. Again, I haven't tried it yet, but I'll keep you posted.

Photo Focus Concealer (Light Ivory) by Wet n' Wild ($3.99)  - This was a repurchase for me. About a month ago or so, I tried out the Photo Focus line, and I liked it a lot. I'm almost out of my Photo Focus Concealer, so I thought I'd pick up some more! This is a nice concealer. It's full coverage and blends nicely, although it does have a tendency to crease. It also doesn't come in a ton of shades, so the lightest shade is a bit too dark for me. Usually, I mix this concealer with my other concealers to get the right shade.

BB Cream 8-in-1 SPF 15 (Light) by Wet n' Wild ($5.99) - This is yet another Wet n' Wild impulse buy. I was super curious about this product because I've never tried a drugstore BB cream, and I feel like this could be a really great product. I know I sound like a broken record, but I haven't tried this yet, but I'll keep you posted.

Photo Focus Setting Spray by Wet n' Wild ($4.99) - I haven't heard anything about this product, but I saw it on the Wet n' Wild website, and I thought "eh, I'll try that." I haven't tried it yet, but I have high hopes for it. I mean, who doesn't want to discover an amazing setting spray? Amirite?

Color Icon Bronzer SPF 15 (Reserve Your Cabana) by Wet n' Wild ($3.99) - I bought this at Five Below, of all places. I never wear bronzer because it's usually way too dark for me and it makes my face look muddy. This is such a light bronzer that it's barely even a bronzer. However, it is warm toned, and I really just want to add a little warmth to my face, so I think this is going to be a nice product for me.

True Matte Finishing Powder by H&M ($10.00) - I actually bought this about six weeks before I bought the rest of this stuff, but I consider H&M to be a drugstore brand, so I thought I would just toss this product into this haul. I was in H&M one day, saw this on sale, and thought 'why not,' and bought it. I've been using this for a while now (actually, I've almost used it up) and I just don't like it. It just looks heavy, cakey, and dry on my skin, and, obviously, no one wants that. Don't get me wrong, this isn't unusable or anything; I just think it's not very flattering on me. It might work for others, but it just doesn't work for me.

Cheek and Highlight

Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder (Twilight Tint) by NYX ($7.99) - When they first came out, I was really intrigued by NYX's Duo Chromatic highlights, but I'm really picky about highlights, so I decided to wait a bit and watch some reviews before purchasing. Eventually, I decided to pick up two of these highlights. This one, Twilight Tint, is a white/silver highlight with a blue green shift. It's really unique and beautiful, but it's not super wearable on an everyday basis. I find it really tough to incorporate into everyday looks.

Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder (Snow Rose) by NYX ($7.99) - Snow Rose is the other highlight I bought from NYX's Duo Chromatic collection. I ordered these online and this one was broken when it arrived. But, it was only broken in half, so I decided to keep it because returning things is a pain in the neck. Anyway, It's a pale pink highlight with a red shift. This one is really gorgeous and flattering, especially on my pale skin. This one is a more natural and wearable, and I've already worn it quite a bit.

Blushing Hearts Highlighter (Goddess of Love) by Makeup Revolution ($7.00) - Let's call a spade a spade; Makeup Revolution is trying to be Too Faced. They just released a ton of chocolate bar themed eyeshadow palettes, and this Blushing Hearts line is a total rip off of Too Faced's Sweetheart Perfect Flush Blushes. Like, I'm not hating on Makeup Revolution, but, let's me real, this wasn't an original idea. True, Too Faced doesn't have a line of highlights (yet, but it's coming), but the packaging is totally a call back to Too Faced packaging. But, I digress. I like Makeup Revolution as a brand, and I was super curious about these highlights. This one, Goddess of Love, is a super pretty pinky toned highlight with a white undertone. It swatches really nicely on the hand, but it's a little less prominent on the face, and you have to build it up a bit to get the full effect on the face. I've used it a couple of times, and I think it's quite nice. It's not one of those highlights that takes you from zero to disco ball in three seconds, but it's still a really nice, flattering highlight. And, for the money, it's a great value.

Blushing Hearts Highlighter (Goddess of Faith) by Makeup Revolution ($7.00) - Obviously, this is another highlighter from Makeup Revolution's Blushing Hearts collection. This shade, Goddess of Faith, is a really pretty, pale champagne highlight with a strong white undertone. But seriously, the glow is strong with this highlight, and, when I say strong, I mean STRONG. Recently, I've been loving this as a nose highlight and a chin highlight. Honestly, I'm super impressed with this line of highlights. And, like I said above, they're a super good value for the price.

Blushing Hearts Blusher (Candy Queen of Hearts) by Makeup Revolution ($7.00) - I bought this blush for comparison purposes with Candy Glow by Too Faced (which is a pale, shimmery pink blush that I absolutely love). The packaging of this blush looks very similar to the Too Faced blush (I'm inserting the photo below for comparison purposes), but the color is actually very different. It's pink, yes, but a more brown-toned, warm pink. I like Candy Glow better, but this is a nice blush too. It gives a nice, natural, brownish-pink flush. And, for the price, this is a great blush.

FaceStudio Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter (Light/Iridescent) by Maybelline ($9.99) - As a rule, I'm not a huge fan of liquid highlighters. I feel like they're difficult to use because you have to apply them before you set your face with powder, and if you set it with powder later, it takes away half the highlight! Anyway, I saw Jaclyn Hill talking about this new line of highlights from Maybelline, and I thought, "those are really pretty, but what would I do with them?" Then, it occurred to me that this would be the perfect mix in for liquid foundation. A little while ago, I had a sample of MAC's Strobe Cream, and I loved mixing that into foundation. The only problem is that Strobe Cream is a little expensive to use as a mix in, which is why I picked up this highlighter. This is perfect to mix into your favorite foundation to give you a little extra glow! I've used this a couple of times for that purpose, and I've been very pleased with the result. It just gives you a little extra radiance without making your skin look glittery. I bought the shade Light/Iridescent, which is a whitish pink, because I'm pale, but there are darker highlights in this collection, so I feel like there's a shade to go with every shade of foundation.

Eyes

ProLine Graphic Marker Eyeliner (Jetliner Black) by Wet n' Wild ($3.99) - There are two things I'm not very good at in regards to makeup: false lashes and liquid eyeliner. It is my great shame *tears.* Anyway, I decided to pick up some drugstore liquid eyeliners just to practice with (because I feel bad about wasting good quality eyeliner). I'd never used a marker style eyeliner, so I thought I'd pick it up just to try it out. I do not like this product. The tip is way too big for precise application, although it is very pigmented.

MegaSlim Skinny Tip Eyeliner (Black) by Wet n' Wild ($4.99) - This is another eyeliner I picked up to practice with. I don't really like this either. It has a nice, thin tip, which is nice. But I feel like the product is very runny and way too much comes out when you try to apply it. I just feel like it's very difficult to use.

Infinite Impact Eye Colour (Something Nice) by H&M ($6.99) - This is another product I picked up when I was at H&M a little while ago. This eyeshadow was on sale, and I like pink eyeshadow so I thought "eh, why not." I think H&M's eyeshadows are a little hit and miss. Some are really beautiful and pigmented and some of them are just eh. This one is kind of eh. In the pan, it looks like a gorgeous, warm pink. However, in reality, it's kind of sheer and un-pigmented. I'm not super disappointed because it was pretty cheap, but I don't really love this shadow.

Infinite Impact Eye Colour (Bismarck Palm) by H&M ($6.99) - This is another shadow I picked up at H&M. Again, it was kind of eh. In the pan, it looks like a nice, olive toned green. But, on the eyes it's not very pigmented and difficult to blend. Again, it was cheap, so I'm not super disappointed, but I wouldn't recommend this shadow.

Expert Wear Eyeshadow (Fierce Fuchsia) by Maybelline ($3.99) - I was going to write an entire post about the new Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadows, but I decided they really weren't interesting enough. I have no strong feelings about these shadows. They exist. I own them. I wasn't disappointed. I wasn't impressed. They all seem to be moderately pigmented, moderately blendable, and, in general, moderately good shadows. I thought I was going to love this particular shade, Fierce Fuchsia, but it's not really all that fierce. It's not that bright, not that impactful, and not that pigmented. It's a moderately pink pink eyeshadow.

Expert Wear Eyeshadow (Khaki Camo) by Maybelline ($3.99) - As I said above, I wasn't super impressed with these Maybelline shadows. I was especially not impressed with this one. Although it looks very pretty in the pan, I felt like it just looked muddy on my lids. It was also very tough to blend. Color me not impressed.

Expert Wear Eyeshadow (Humdrum Plum) by Maybelline ($3.99) - Again, I wasn't very impressed with this shadow (or any shadow from this line). I felt like this color just kind of blended out to nothing. The color pay off was very poor. I have lots of other purple shadows and, to be honest, I don't see myself reaching for this.

Expert Wear Eyeshadow (NY Silver) by Maybelline ($3.99) - Of all the Maybelline shadows I picked up, I was most impressed with this one. Boy is it silver. It was really tough to photograph because it was just SO pigmented. It was like 0 to silver in one second. Unfortunately, I don't really wear silver shadows very often, but that's more of a me problem than an issue with this shadow. If you rock silver eye looks, you need this shadow in your life.

Skin, Hair, and Tools

Renewing Argan Oil Of Morocco Weightless Healing Dry Oil by OGX ($7.99) - This product is a repurchase for me. I have really dry and frizzy hair, so I really love argan oil in my hair. It's just very moisturizing and softening. This particular oil is fine. I've used other oils in my hair, and I've liked some of them more and some of them less. For me, this is a very middle of the road product. But, it's cheap and it's fairly effective, so I'll probably continue to buy this again. Seriously though, hair oil is a necessity for me. If I couldn't put some sort of oil in my hair, I'd be down for the count; my hair would just be a frizzy, crazy mess!

Highlighting Brush by e.l.f ($6.00) - Sooner or later, everyone gets to that point in their life when they just really need another highlighting brush. Okay, by everyone, I mean me. I needed another highlighting brush. Right now, I have two brushes that I use for highlighting, but I just feel like they weren't doing it for me. I decided to buy this e.l.f. brush from Ulta because it was cheap and e.l.f. makes pretty good brushes. Not amazing, but pretty good. I think it's important to invest in good quality brushes overall, but for highlighting, I honestly don't think it makes much of a difference. Anyway, I've tried this brush out and it's fine; I'm not wowed by it, but I have no complaints either. It highlights my face and that's all I wanted.

Coconut Micellar Cleansing Water by Yes To ($8.99) - So, I recently saw that Yes To released a line of micellar waters, and I had a tiny freak out. I mean, I don't really like micellar water. I know it's crazy to buy something that you know you don't like, but I want to like it. I love Yes To and coconut, so, if anyone can make me like micellar water, it's Yes To. I haven't tried this product yet, but, if I become a micellar water convert, you'll be the first to know.

Coconut Cleansing Wipes by Yes To ($5.99) - I feel like I've written about these wipes 50 million times, and I'll probably write about them another 100 billion times. I really like these wipes. I've gone through approximately 500 thousand packages (not really, calm down), and they were on sale when I placed this order, so I thought I might as well grab a back up package (I have three back ups now, but still).

Anyway, that's everything I bought in this huge, crazy makeup haul. Yes, I know I have a problem, but there's no rehab for makeup addiction.
