Review: Going Coconuts Palette by ColourPop

Going Coconuts Palette by ColourPop
SO. I think I have a new favorite neutral palette (and that's really saying something considering I have approximately one million neutral palettes; but hey, you can always use more, right?)

Seriously though, I recently picked up the Going Coconuts Palette by ColourPop, and I've been LOVING IT lately.

Before, I dive into the review I want to let you know that this palette retails for $12, includes 9 pans, and is available on ColourPop's website. It comes in ColourPop's hard plastic packaging, which isn't my favorite, but I can live with it. In terms of price, I think the cost is very reasonable considering the quality of these shadows.

I've observed that ColourPop always does a good job at delivering bang for your buck.

If you're familiar with ColourPop eyeshadows, you probably know that they have an excellent formula, especially for the price point.

Their matte shadows are super creamy and easy to blend (although they aren't the most pigmented shadows in the world). I should note that I sometimes find ColourPop shadows in brighter shades to be patchy and tough to work with, but, of course, you don't have that problem a neutral palette like this one.

I've always been impressed with ColourPop's shimmer shadows as well. They tend to be fairly pigmented and easy to apply, and you can't ask for much more from eyeshadows. Again, I think shimmer shadows in brighter colors are more difficult to work with, but that's the case amongst most brands, not just ColourPop.

In terms of shade selection, I'm also really happy with this palette. The shades in Going Coconuts tend to be more cool-toned, which is frankly refreshing when you look at the millions of warm-toned palettes on the market. I also think this palette delivers a nice mix of transition shades and darker shadows that can deepen a look; it's pretty versatile. My only complaint is that I wish there was one more mid-toned shimmer shade in this palette. Otherwise, it's golden in my opinion.

So, if you're looking for a new neutral palette, I recommend giving this one a second look. I'm pretty sure you'll "go coconuts" for it.

Final Rating: 9/10
