September Empties

Image
Another month, another empties blog! I used up a lot of products this month, just in time to replace them with approximately 500 and a half new products. Yay! Anyway, let's get into the products that I used up this month. Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer by Tarte - I've written a lot about this concealer (as has everyone else in the makeup universe); it's one of my favorites and I've been through several tubes of this product. It gives really full coverage, and it's very crease resistant. If you haven't tried the Shape Tape concealer yet, I highly recommend it. I'll certainly continue to repurchase it. Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum by OGX - So, I really like OGX's hair products; they're cheap and they get the job done. I've gone through several bottles of their Coconut Milk Serum. It definitely reduces frizziness and it makes my hair softer and stronger. If you're looking for cheap hair care products, I...

New to My Collection (October 2017)

Image
Guess who's back? Back again. It's me, with a new "new to my collection" post! This is a series I started a few weeks ago where I talk about products that are new to me but are not necessarily in favorites or disappointing products posts. I try a lot of new makeup all the time, but, unless it makes it into a favorites blog or a disappointing products blog, I'm unlikely to talk about it. So, I've started doing these blogs to give you more thoughts about more products. Coconut Curls Styling Milk by OGX - Girl (or boy, or cat; I don't know who I'm addressing here), if anyone knows about having dry hair, it's me. As I'm typing to you, it's been approximately 10 days since I last washed by hair, and it's bone dry. Not a drop of grease anywhere! So, I need serious help with hair moisture, which is why I picked up this product. I use this product after I wash my hair; I work it into my hair when it's still damp. Quite honestly, I don...

August & September Empties

Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation by L'Oréal ($12.99) - Dude. I loved this foundation. L-O-V-E-D it. It gives your skin such a beautiful, dewy finish and it's super easy to apply and work with. My only complaint is that it's a bit too dewy for my skin. Don't get me wrong, it looks lovely on the skin, but, after a few hours, it starts to get that oily look, which is not flattering. If you have dry skin, I'm guessing this wouldn't be any issue for you (I would say that my skin is normal to dry). If you have "normal" skin, this might be a mild issue, as it is for me. If you have oily skin, this is NOT the foundation for you. A good way of getting around the oil issue, however, is mixing it with another foundation. This is actually a fantastic mixing foundation (side note, I love mixing foundations together). I've mixed this foundation with a ton of other foundations, and it's always turned out great. My favorite foundation mix is this foundation ...

April & May Favorites: Recommendations

Image
Spring makeup is just the best makeup. Spring always inspires me to bust out the terracotta, gold, and peach-toned products and create dewey, fresh-faced looks. Spring just makes me think of sunshine and flowers and light, and I like to bring that into my makeup. I've basically been creating a gold eye look everyday and pairing it with peach blush and a gold highlight. As you may have noticed, I didn't get a chance to write a favorites blog last month, so this month is going to cover April and May. Without further ado, these are my Spring favorites for makeup. Rainforest of The Sea Color Splash Lipstick in Colada by Tarte ($21) - I've been dying to try one of Tarte's new Color Splash Lipsticks for a while. The packaging is ridiculously beautiful, and it's been getting fantastic reviews. I picked up the shade Colada during the Sephora VIB sale, and I've been loving it every since. It's a nice, terracotta toned nude shade that pairs perfectly with a golden...

March Favorites: Recommendations

Image
So, it's the end of March, right? That should mean it's Spring, right? Funny story about that, March was more wintery this year than December. Life is weird, huh? Anyway, I'm still in winter makeup mode, whatever that means. I don't think I vary my makeup choices my season as much as other people. I tend to do my makeup to match my clothes, or, sometimes, I pick my clothes to match the makeup look I want to do. Regardless, I think my makeup favorites this month transcend season. This is what I was loving in March: Studded Kiss Lipstick  ( Wolvesmouth)  by Kat Von D  - I've been wanting to try out Kat Von D's Studded Kiss Lipstick for a while, and, a few weeks ago, I finally gave in and bought one. I picked up the shade Wolvesmouth, which is described as "metallic berry," and, so far, I'm quite impressed with it. First of all, it's a gorgeous, unique color. It's sort of a deep, berry red with a bluish, purplish shimmer. I have a lot of...

February Empties

Image
I can't believe February is already over! This year is going so fast (I know I say that every month, but that doesn't make it less true). Even though it was a short month, I somehow managed to use up a lot of makeup and skin care products. Pink Grapefruit Body Butter by The Body Shop ($36) - I've said it before, and I'l say it again, I use up lotion as fast as water. This month, I used up a 13.5 oz container of Pink Grapefruit Body Butter (which is quite a feat because the 13.5 oz size is HUGE). I really like The Body Shop's formula for Body Butter. It's moisturizing, creamy, and all their scents are great. This product is a lifesaver during the winter months, especially if you have dry skin. I especially liked the grapefruit scent, the fruitiness is nice during the winter when it's cold and drab outside. Coconut Ultra Hydrating Overnight Eye Balm by Yes To ($15.99) - I bought this product back in August, and I've been using it ever since ...
