April Empties

Image
Happy April! Spring is always a great time for makeup. Spring always inspires me to break out of my makeup rut and try new products. In the spirit of spring cleaning, spring also inspires me to use up old products to make room for new things. So, without furthur ado, these are my empties from the month of April: Death Valley Dry Shampoo by R+Co ($30) - I think I've written about this product before. It's one of my favorite dry shampoos better. Actually, let me rephrase this, it is my favorite dry shampoo. It pulls all the oil out of my hair, it leaves my hair pretty soft, and it has a nice, powder scent. I don't know what else I could ask for from a dry shampoo. I will be repurchasing this, but I want to use up one of my other dry shampoos first. (Also, let's be real, I love the packaging). Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Cleanser by Yes To ($9.99) - Honestly, I don't really know why I bought this. This cleanser is supposed to help clear up acne, and I don...

Winter Favorites (November, December, & January): Recommendations

I didn't write a favorites blog last month or the month before (I moved, got a new job, and was, in general, crazy busy), so you know what that means...EXTRA favorites this month. Please try to contain your excitement.  Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Candy Glow by Too Faced - I wrote a full review of this blush back in June. Long story short, I love this blush. It's soft and blendable and luminous and gorgeous. Lately, I've been pairing this blush with intense, holiday eye looks because it's such a subtle blush. It gives you just the perfect amount of color in the cheeks. Kathleen Lights Palette by Morphe - I am convinced that Kathleen Lights can do no wrong (as far as makeup is concerned, anyway), and this palette is proof. I find myself reaching for this palette almost every day. I particularly love the gorgeous mauve and red-toned shades, not to mention the gorgeous terracotta transition shades. This palette was sold out for a while, but I think it...

Recommendations: My 5 Favorite Lipsticks

Image
Hands down, lipstick is my favorite beauty product. I actually think I would melt into a puddle like the witch from the Wizard of Oz if I didn't have lipstick. However, not all lipstick is created equal -- believe me, there are certainly some lipsticks out there with the texture and consistency of a crayon. I know that a lot of people prefer lip gloss for this reason alone. But it doesn't have to be that way; lipstick is one of those products that is well worth paying a little extra money for. That being said, here are a few of my favorite lipsticks: Lipstick by M.A.C. ($17) : Nothing compares to M.A.C. lipstick.  Once you buy a M.A.C. lipstick there will be no going back. It will ruin you for all other lipstick. M.A.C. lipsticks are creamy, smooth, long lasting, highly pigmented, and they smell like vanilla -- as if all that other stuff wasn't enough. Most lipsticks will use at least a couple of those adjectives to advertise themselves but, in most cases, they're n...
