Summer Declutter: 2019 Edition

Image
It probably won't surprise you to learn that my makeup collection is way out of hand. I mean, presumably you follow this blog, so you see the number of products that I try out on a month to month basis. So, in order to try to keep my makeup collection in check, I did a MAJOR declutter this month. And, when I say major, I mean MAJOR (for me, anyway). Let's jump in! Love in London Palette by BH Cosmetics - I reviewed this palette very recently , so I'm not going to go into too much detail about it. The point is, I'm probably not going to be using this palette any time soon, so I'm passing it along to a friend. 35F Fall into Frost Palette by Morphe - I used to really enjoy this palette ( you can read my review about it if you want ), but, these days, I rarely find myself reaching for big eyeshadow palettes.  It's just too overwhelming. So, I'm going to pass this palette along to one of my friends; I imagine she'll get more use out of it than I d...

Review: Love in London Palette by BH Cosmetics

Image
Okay, I'm not gonna lie: BH Cosmetics kind of disappointed me with this palette . I picked it up because I really enjoyed their Royal Affair palette, which was released for holiday 2019. When I saw the Love in London palette, I thought to myself "if that's anything like the royal affair palette, I have to have it." Unfortunately, it wasn't really anything like the Royal Affair palette. However, before I get too far ahead of myself, let me tell you more about this palette. It comes with 16 shades and costs $16, which is a stellar deal if you ask me. It's available for sale on BH's website and Ulta.com, where it has excellent reviews, which is confusing to me because I find this palette to be very mediocre. With that being said, let's dive into the review. First of all, let's talk about the packaging. It's beautiful. In fact, if I'm honest with myself, I probably bought this palette for the packaging. As you can see in the photos, it ...

Review: Royal Affair Palette by BH Cosmetics

When The Royal Affair palette first came out a couple of months ago (I'm super behind on my reviewing, I know), my first thought was "wow, that's an interesting color scheme." For some reason, the shades in this palette really caught my attention. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't seen too many palettes with this sort of vibe. BH Cosmetics eyeshadow palettes haven't worked out too well for me in the past, but I was inspired by this color scheme, so I decided to purchase it anyway. I picked it up at Ulta; it's no longer available at Ulta, but it is for sale on the BH Cosmetics website. I do think it's limited edition though, so, if you want to pick it up, you should go get it soon. I've had it for a few months now, and I'm more than ready to review it, so let's get into it now: First of all, let's talk about the packaging. I think the packaging is beautiful. It's very sturdy cardboard, and it seems like it would be d...

Disappointing Products (Summer 2018)

Image
It's been a while since I've written a "Disappointing Products" blog post, which is a good thing I suppose. In general, I'm patient with makeup and I'm usually able to make products work, so it's rare when something truly disappoints me. However, a few products have fallen flat for me over the past few months, so I'm going to take some time to talk about them. To misquote the Festivus airing of grievances: "I got a lot of problems with this makeup! And now you're gonna hear about it!" Anyway, let's get into the disappointing products: Lasting Finish 25 HR Breathable Long Wear Foundation by Rimmel London - I picked this foundation up at Walmart because I thought it looked interesting (and it was cheap); I was especially intrigued by its claim that it lasts 25 hours. I mean, I've seen foundations that claim to last 24 hours, but I figured that something that lasts  25 hours had to be something extra special. Unfortunately, it ...
