Disappointing Makeup Products: Fall 2019

Image
It's been a while since I've written a disappointing products blog. However, a lot of products have disappointed me lately, and I want to talk about them. So, without further ado, let's jump into it! Natural Face Palette by Too Faced - I picked this palette up during the recent Ulta 21 Days of Beauty sale. I was really excited to try it out because I heard a lot of people raving about it and recommending it in the lead up to the sale. I ended up getting it for 50% off, and I was really excited to try it out. However, after I used it a few times, I realized I have two problems with this palette: 1) the shades don't suit my skin tone and 2) I found the powders to be difficult to blend. They just looked a little patchy on my skin, and, for $44, those powders better blend beautifully. Now, that might just be a problem with the way the formula interacts with my skin type, but this palette just didn't work for me. bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer...

Spring Empties

Image
It has been a MINUTE since I did an empties blog. So, as you can imagine, I have a small mountain of empties to share with you. So, grab a snack and settle in because this is gonna be a long one. I know it's technically summer now (although our weather is not super summer-y at the moment), but I'm going to call this Spring empties because I used up most of these things during the spring. So, let's dive in! Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly by MAC - MAC's Paint Pots are the only eyeshadow primers I use. I've used up a couple of these paint pots over the past few years, and they're far and away the best eyeshadow primers I've ever used. They give the eyeshadow a really good base to stick too, and they're very opaque, so they cover any texture or discoloration in your eyelids. It's a bit like using a concealer as an eye primer, but concealers always crease when I use them as eye primers, and the paint pot never creases on me. I already have a new ...

Disappointing Products (Fall 2018)

Image
Sometimes, products don't work out for me. It's frustrating to talk about disappointing products sometimes because it's upsetting when a product doesn't work out. However, I do think that it's important to talk about disappointing products so that other consumers can make an informed choice. That being said, I have some disappointing products to share with you today, so let's get into it: Ultra-Rich Body Butter in White Flowers by Ulta - I picked up this lotion because I was on vacation visiting a friend, and I had forgotten to bring lotion with me. I don't know what it is about this product, but the formula is not good. It smells good, but it leaves a strange residue on the skin, and it doesn't really feel like the moisture sinks into the skin. If anything, it just sits on top of the skin and makes you feel greasy. Ultra Glossy Lip  by ColourPop - I have two ColourPop lip glosses (in the shades Flying Horses and Jubilee), and I don't lik...

Review: Ulta Collection Full Coverage Liquid Concealer

Image
Recently, I've heard several people on YouTube talking about the Full Coverage Liquid Concealer from the Ulta Collection. The YouTubers that I saw talking about it seemed to really like this concealer, so I thought I'd pick it up and try it out. I've been using this concealer for a few weeks, and I have some thoughts. First of all, let's go over the details. It costs $9 , which is a very affordable price.   The product also comes with .8 ounces ; that's not a ton of product, but it is a good value for the price. This is from the Ulta Collection, so, obviously, you can only purchase it at Ulta . Unfortunately, the shade range for this product isn't very good . There are 12 shades total, but only 2 deep shades, which is pretty bad. In terms of the finish, I would say that this concealer is demi-matte with medium to full coverage . Anyway, now that we've touched on the details, let's talk about the actual product. I've used this concealer a lot,...

January Empties

Happy 2018! I don't know about you, but I can't believe it's already 2018. Seriously guys, I feel like the year 2000 was like yesterday. When did it become 2018?? I feel old.  Anyway, now that I've needlessly complained about the passage of time, let's get to my empties from January. I feel like I used up a ton of products this month, so we have a lot to talk about.  Coconut Ultra Hydrating Overnight Eye Balm by Yes To - I think I've used three or four bottles of Yes To's Coconut Ultra Hydrating Overnight Eye Balm. I really like this product; it smells great and it hydrates and softens the skin around my eyes. However, I'm not going to repurchase it because this product contains alcohol, and I'm trying to eliminate alcohol from my skin care products. I do think it's a good product, so, if you don't mind alcohol in your skin care products, I would recommend this product to you. Keratin Mist Leave-In Strengthening Treatment by Ch...
