Winter Favorites (November, December, & January): Recommendations

I didn't write a favorites blog last month or the month before (I moved, got a new job, and was, in general, crazy busy), so you know what that means...EXTRA favorites this month. Please try to contain your excitement.

Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Candy Glow by Too Faced - I wrote a full review of this blush back in June. Long story short, I love this blush. It's soft and blendable and luminous and gorgeous. Lately, I've been pairing this blush with intense, holiday eye looks because it's such a subtle blush. It gives you just the perfect amount of color in the cheeks.

Kathleen Lights Palette by Morphe - I am convinced that Kathleen Lights can do no wrong (as far as makeup is concerned, anyway), and this palette is proof. I find myself reaching for this palette almost every day. I particularly love the gorgeous mauve and red-toned shades, not to mention the gorgeous terracotta transition shades. This palette was sold out for a while, but I think it's back now, so go pick it up ASAP!

Colour Essence Eye Pencil by H&M - I don't know what else I can say about this eyeliner that I haven't already said. This is a FANTASTIC eyeliner. Period. End of story. It's creamy, soft, applies easily, and it's so, so pigmented. I know it's weird that it's an H&M product (I mean, you never really think of H&M as a makeup brand), but it's actually a great product.

Colour Riche Monos Eyeshadow in Pain au Chocolat by L'Oreal - A couple of months ago, I saw a YouTuber swatch her collection of L'oreal's Colour Riche Eyeshadows. I instantly fell in love with the whole collection, especially Pain au Chocolat, which is a gorgeous, frosty champagne/bronzy brown (if that description makes any sense). It's a very unique shade. I love throwing this shadow into looks. It's incredibly soft and creamy and pigmented (especially over primer). The swatch below is without primer, so you can get a sense of how it preforms on its own.

Time Balm by the Balm - I picked up this primer recently, and I've been loving it. In general, I'm a big fan of products by the Balm, and this product is no exception. This primer really smoothes out your skin and creates a perfect canvas for makeup. I also think that it extends the wear time of my makeup, though I'm not sure that it would have the same effect on everyone. All and all, I would say this is a good basic primer. It's not going to help with skin issues (dryness, oiliness, etc.), but it does what a primer is supposed to do (prime your face for makeup), and it does it well.

Ultra Matte Lip in Viper by Colourpop - I've been really into dusty rose lipsticks and lip shades this winter. There's something about a gorgeous, cool-toned pink that just screams winter to me. Plus, they go super well with the mauve and purple-toned eye looks that I've been loving lately. One of my favorite dusty rose lip shades is Viper by Colourpop. It's one of their Ultra Matte Lip shades, so it's super long lasting and super pigmented. Plus, it's only $6. It is a little drying, which is pretty standard for liquid lipsticks, but it's so pretty that I don't care.

Photo Focus Concealer by Wet n' Wild - Don't get me wrong, the Shape Tape Concealer by Tarte is still my number one, but I've really been enjoying the Photo Focus Concealer by Wet n' Wild this month. It has a great, bouncy texture, blends beautifully, and it's cheap ($3.99). Plus, it's pretty full coverage too. What more could you ask for?

High Potency Night-A-Mins by Origins - I got a sample of this product as a 100 point perk from Sephora, and I instantly fell in love with it. This is a fantastic night moisturizer. FANTASTIC. I used this sample for approximately two weeks, and, in that time, my skin became so satin soft that I almost couldn't stop touching my own face. (I know that's weird, and I apologize, but I thought you should know how crazy good this stuff is). It's crazy expensive, so I won't be repurchasing it right away, but it's a wonderful product. If you have the means and you want your skin to feel like satin, I highly recommend picking it up.
I hope you're having a good winter and that you haven't frozen into a popsicle yet!
