Disappointing Makeup Products: Winter 2019/2020

I try out a lot of makeup. And, when I say a lot, I mean a LOT. Most of it works well for me, but there are always some products that just don't cooperate. And, recently, there have been a lot of products that have let me down.

So, I decided to make a list of all the products that have let me down lately. I tried these terrible products so you don't have to. Consider it a public service announcement. You're welcome.

Creme de la Creme Palette by ColourPop - I picked this product up from ColourPop's clearance section a few months ago. I was really excited to try it because I thought the shades looked perfect for my skin. Unfortunately, this palette let me down. The highlights just don't have any pigment! What they do have is glitter. Lots of it.  Basically, this palette just creates a glittery mess on my cheeks, and that's not a cute look in my opinion.

TruNaked Queenship Shadow Stick by CoverGirl -  I got this product as a free sample when I purchased another CoverGirl product. I thought it might work well as an eyeshadow primer, but, unfortunately, it's terrible. This product dries the second you apply it to the skin, which means you can't blend it at all. In case you were wondering, that's a bit of a problem for an EYESHADOW. Maybe the people at CoverGirl didn't know this, but you're supposed to be able to blend eyeshadow. *SMH*

Moon Spell Palette by Lunar Beauty - I bought this palette because I liked the concept (the shadow names are based on witches from pop culture). I also thought the packaging was adorable (it's a spell book). However, while the idea was great, the execution leaves something to be desired. All of the shades are a) dry and b) hard to blend. The shadows are pigmented, but that's small consolation if you can't blend them.

One Drop Coverage Weightless Concealer by Catrice - This was a product that intrigued me. Catrice describes it as a concealer "infused with hyaluronic acid this concealer moisturizes while correcting the appearance of dark circles and imperfections." That sounded perfect to me, so I decided to pick it up. While I agree that this is a moisturizing concealer, I disagree that it conceals dark circles. This concealer is a) super patchy and b) almost impossible to blend. Also, it delivers hardly any coverage. Sound like a good concealer? I think not.

Teddy Girl Eyeshadow Palette by Butter London - I made an entire video reviewing this palette, so I don't want to spend too much time talking about it. Suffice it to say that the pigmentation and color-story did not meet my expectations, so I ended up returning it. Take a look at my video if you want to know more about the palette.

PhotoReady Candid Antioxidant Concealer by Revlon - I really love Revlon's Candid foundation, so I thought I would adore their Candid concealer. Unfortunately, it a) provides no coverage, b) is difficult to blend, and c) disturbs the foundation underneath when you apply it. It was a huge disappointment to me. I actually ended up returning this concealer, which is unusual for me. But, unfortunately, I just couldn't get it to cooperate.

Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara by Essence - I've heard great things about Essence's Lash Princess mascara, so I was excited to try it out when I picked it up a few months ago. Unfortunately, this mascara let me down big time. It's extremely clumpy, and it transfers like there's no tomorrow. It does deliver good length, but, whenever I wear this mascara, I always end up with tiny spots of black all over my face. Not a cute look.

Radient Luminizing Drops by Sephora - I picked up this product because it was on sale, and I needed to get to the shipping minimum for a Sephora order. Basically, it's just a liquid highlighter. However, it's not a very good one because it dries to quickly it's impossible to blend. So, whenever I try to use this product, I end up with little glittery circles all over my face. Like I said before, not a cute look.
