Reviews: Ofra Liquid Lipstick

So, in the spirit of continuing my theme of talking about lipstick all day every day, I wanted to give you a review of my latest lipstick purchase, even though it's not a new product at all. I recently purchased Ofra's liquid lipstick because I'd heard good things about it and, more importantly, because Kathleen Lights had a coupon code.

Sometimes, liquid lipsticks are over hyped. This is not one of those times.

I cannot say enough positive things about this product. I'll probably write a comparison blog, but I may like this product more than Kat Von D's everlasting liquid lipstick. (Shocking, I know).

To begin with, this product is super long lasting. You can put it on at the beginning of the day and it will be there at the end of the day -- unless you wipe it off, of course. Not to mention that it doesn't feather at all! However, it isn't completely transfer proof. If you're eating or drinking, you will get lipstick on your food/silverware, especially if you're wearing a dark color. That being said, the color stays on your lips no matter what you're doing.

In terms of texture, it is very drying. Now, that isn't a problem for me, but, if you don't like products with a dry texture, this isn't for you. I often put lip balm on under my lipstick if I want a little extra moisture.  The product itself applies very cleanly and neatly.

Plus, it comes in a million different colors, which is a massive positive. I purchased mine in the shade Havana Nights, which was created by Kathleen Lights. It's a gorgeous, dark, vampy red, and I think it would be almost universally flattering. Plus, Ofra has a ton of other gorgeous shades.

However, in my opinoin, what makes this product better than Kat Von D's liquid lipstick is the smell. In my review of the KVD lipstick, I wrote that it had a chemical smell, which I didn't like. Ofra's liquid lipstick literally smells like cake batter. I almost want to eat it as I'm applying it. People rave about MAC's vanilla scent, but this is much better. It's like rubbing cupcakes on your face. Enough said.

In terms of price ($20), I think it's fairly reasonable for a high end lipstick. I got a discount with Kathleen Lights' coupon code, which was nice. But, if you really want to invest in a reliable lip product, I think it's well worth the money.

The only downside is that you can only buy it from Ofra's website, which is a little inconvenient. It's also difficult to pick a shade since you can't see it in person. However, Ofra does offer lip swatches, so I don't think that should get in your way of buying this product.

Final rating: 10/10
