March Favorites: Recommendations
It's officially Spring! (I mean, I think it's Spring, although the weather doesn't seem to know what it's doing). In any case, it's time for the March Favorites blog and -- like it or not -- they're going to be Spring(ish) products.
Keratin Mist Leave-In Strengthening Treatment by Chi ($14.50) - I bought this product on the recommendation of my roommate. I wanted something that would strengthen and soften my hair, and this definitely turned out to be the ideal product for me. This product is designed to protect your hair from hot tools like straighteners and curling irons. Even though I don't use either of those things, I still use this product because my hair is just that dry and brittle. I've only been using it for a few weeks, but I already notice a difference in my hair; it's definitely softer and stronger. If you use hot styling tools or if you just have dry hair like me, I highly recommend this product. Also, they give you a HUGE bottle, so it's well worth the price. Final Rating: 7/10
Eyeshadow Primer by Jessie's Girl ($5.99) - I first received this product a few months ago in my ipsy bag and it's been one of my favorite eye shadow primers ever since. It's not greasy, it's easy to apply, and it holds my eyeshadow in place. What more could you possibly ask for? Plus, for the price, it's a fantastic product. Actually, I like it far more than Urban Decay's Eye Shadow Primer Potion and Lorac's Behind the Scenes Eye Primer. This primer just seems to have a little something extra; I don't know what it is, but I certainly appreciate it. The only problem is that it's very difficult to find in stores. As far as I know you can only buy it online and in certain Rite Aids. Honestly, I can't recommend this product enough -- it's that good! Final Rating: 9/10
Powder Blush by Cargo ($26) - I've decided that Cargo blush is going to be my unofficial blush for Spring. I feel like Cargo is one of those brands that is really undervalued; no one really talks about it, but it's actually great. I have this blush in two shades: Laguna, which is a bright coral, and Key Largo, which is hot pink. They're both very bright colors that are perfect for spring. Cargo is sort of known for their vivid colors. All their blushes are very pigmented, so a little product goes a long way (but seriously, go easy with this blush to start with). They're also very easy to blend and super long wearing. Plus, Cargo is famous for their oversized tin containers, so you get a ton of product for the price. Not to mention that the packaging is very cute. Final Rating: 10/10
Everlasting Liquid Lipstick by Kat Von D ($20) - I already blogged about this, but I just want to reemphasize how wonderful this liquid lipstick is. It is completely and utterly life proof. You can eat and drink and go to the gym and it will stay exactly where you put it. Personally, I don't mind reapplying lip products, but, if you don't like carrying a lipstick around with you, this is for you. It will last twelve hours easily. My only complaints are the chemical smell, the drying texture, and the inconvenient color selection, which I discuss in more detail in my full review of this lipstick. Other than that, I could not imagine a better liquid lipstick (except, possibly, Ofra's liquid lipstick). Plus, Lolita II is the perfect, terra cotta coral shade for spring. Final Rating: 10/10
