May Favorites: Recommendations

Honestly, I don't have a lot of new favorites this month. I've basically been using a lot of the same products and I have a lot of the same favorites. However, I do have a couple of products that I use regularly that I want to talk about.

Age Shield Face Sunblock Lotion SPF 110 with Helioplex by Neutrogena ($13) - This product has been one of my favorites for a long time. I use it basically every day under my makeup as a daily sunscreen (it could also probably work as a daily moisturizer as well). Although I use it every day and I've been using it for a while, I thought it was a good product to mention because it's finally getting sunny outside. (Dare I say it? Summer may be here.) This is my favorite sunscreen because I am very, very fair and I definitely need SPF 110. Not to mention that it doesn't feel greasy on the skin, doesn't have a strong scent, and it works well with my makeup. The texture is also very nice and moisturizing. Even if you don't need SPF 110, I highly recommend this sunscreen for your face because of the formula alone. When it's sunny, I also use this product on my neck and shoulders, although it's specifically designed for the face. It's a little pricey for sunscreen, but one bottle will last you a while, especially if you only use it on your face. Final rating: 10/10

Celebration Foundation Illumination by It Cosmetics ($35) - I've used this foundation in the past, but, for some reason, I forgot how much I liked it until I re-purchased it in the end of April. Hands down, this is one of my favorite foundations of all time. I don't know how it does it, but somehow this foundation just makes your skin look amazing. It blends well, it doesn't look powdery or cakey on the skin, and the finish is simply flawless. Plus, it's an illuminating foundation, so it gives you a natural, healthy glow. (If you don't like illuminating foundations, you can buy the original Celebration Foundation). You can use this all over your face as a foundation; however, you can also it to highlight specific areas of the face, like your under eyes. Although it's a little pricey, I think it's worth the money, and it will last you a while. Final rating: 10/10

Prep + Prime Skin by MAC ($31) - I don't often buy primers because, for one reason or another, I always seem to have half a million primer samples sitting around. This month, I've been using a sample of Prep + Prime Skin and I really, really like it.  It has a really nice, smooth, silky texture, and the formula is really light and comfortable. I feel like it doesn't sit on top of your skin; it absorbs well and really evens the tone and texture of your skin. But, most importantly,  it creates a great base for your makeup. Serisously, me makeup last all day easily with this primer. It even stands up to sweat! However, I will say that my skin tends to be fairly "normal," not too dry and not too oily. I feel like this product may not be as effective if you have naturally oily skin. However, MAC gives out samples of this product fairly often, so, if you're unsure if this product will work with your skin, I suggest picking up a sample the next time you buy something from MAC. Final rating: 8/10
