Review: Infallible Fresh Wear 24HR Foundation by L'Oréal

Image
I'm always up for trying new foundations, especially drugstore foundations. When L'Oréal released their new Infallible Fresh Wear 24HR Foundation, I was super excited because I've used and loved L'Oréal foundations in the past. Plus, this foundation got some positive reviews on YouTube. So, the next time I was placing an order from Ulta, I dropped this into my cart. I've now had pleanty of time to try this foundation out, and I'm ready to give you my thoughts. First of all, I want to let you know that this foundation is avalible in 30 shades, which is exciting. It costs $14.99, which seems pretty reasonable to me. It's described as having a natural finish that is suitable for every skin type. I don't really agree with that description. On me, the foundation came off as pretty matte , which I don't like. Although I know a lot of people liked this foundation, this formula really wasn't for me.  This foundation was just not very flattering o...

Review: 16HR Camo Concealer by e.l.f.

Image
I follow the trends in the makeup community pretty closely, and recently I've noticed that everyone is really excited about the new e.l.f. Camo Concealer. I've heard it compared to the Tarte Shape Tape concealer, and it seems to be getting great reviews. So, of course, I had to try it out. I picked up the Camo Concealer a few weeks ago, and I've been trying it out for a while, so I think I'm ready to give my review. First of all, I want to say that the price of this concealer is excellent. It's only $5, which is pretty unbeatable. Drugstore prices seem to be gradually raising their prices in general, so it's nice to know that it's still possible to get a good deal. It's avalible in 18 shades, which sounds pretty good. However, when you really look at these shades, there are really only 5 or 6 deep shades, which isn't very impressive. That being said, it's an improvement over other complexion products that e.l.f. has released in the past, ...

Review: The New Classics Palette by e.l.f.

Image
I have used quite a few e.l.f. products in my life, but I've never had an e.l.f. eyeshadow palette before. e.l.f. eyeshadow palettes seems to usually get pretty decent reviews, but I was never tempted to pick one up before because I'm not usually impressed by drug store palettes. However, when the New Classics Palette came out, I was drawn to it right away because I found the color scheme to be super appealing. There are a lot of cool-toned and neutral-toned shadows and some beautiful, mauve toned shades. I don't think this color scheme is totally unique, but I haven't seen any other drug store palette quite like this one. Anyway,  I picked up this palette around Christmas on sale, and I've been playing with it ever since. I've had a lot of time to test it out, so let's dive into the review. First of all, I want to comment on the price of this palette. It's $14, which is an excellent price for an 18-pan palette. Considering the price, I do thin...

Winter Empties

Image
It's been a few months since I've written an empties blog, which means I've accumulated a TON of used up products. So, buckle up because this is going to be a long, long post. Personally, I really like writing and reading/watching empties blogs. I like watching empties videos because it inspires me to use things up, and I like writing them because it gives me a sense of accomplishment. Plus, it's nice to feel like I'm actually getting my money's worth out of all the makeup I buy (and, trust me, I buy a lot of makeup). So, without further ado, let's get into it: Dandelion by Benefit - I use up a blush very seldomly. Obviously, a blush is tough product to use up because you only use a small amount each time you use it. That's why I'm so incredibly proud of myself for using up the Dandelion blush by Benefit. Granted, it was only a travel size, but it was still a pretty big accomplishment in my book. I've been on a no-buy with blush for a long...

New to My Collection: January 2019

Image
It's been a while since I've written one of these new to my collection blogs. I've picked up a lot of new products recently, so I have a lot to talk about. Let's get into it. Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion by Clinique - I needed a new moisturizer and, fortunately, I got a sample of Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, which I've been wanting to try for a while.  I've only been using it for a few days, but so far I like it! It feels very nourishing and refreshing on the skin, and it's definitely helping me do battle against dry, winter skin. Overall, I'm quite happy with this product, and I think I'll be repurchasing it in the future. Megaglo Highlighting Powder in Caught In Your Web by Wet n' Wild - I was at Wal-Mart a little while ago, and I saw this highlight, and I was like "yeah, I'll buy that." This highlight is kind of a silvery, icy, purple-white shade, which is right up my ally. I...

Disappointing Products: Winter 2018/2019

Image
I'm glad to say that I'm not often disappointed by makeup products that I buy. I try hard to find ways to make products work, and I read reviews carefully, so I don't often buy products that are bad. However, sometimes products disappoint me, and I like to write about them so that others don't make the same mistakes. I'm not trying to drag any brands, and I'm not saying that you definitely won't like these products (makeup preferences are very personal), but these are some products that just didn't work for me. With that being said, let's get into these disappointing products. Emerald Obsessions Palette by Huda Beauty - When Huda Beauty announced that they were releasing new Obsessions palettes, I got really excited. I never bought anything from Huda Beauty before, but I really liked the idea behind these new, jewel-toned obsessions palettes. So, as soon as these palettes were released, I picked a couple of them up. Although I love the color sto...

Review: Royal Affair Palette by BH Cosmetics

Image
When The Royal Affair palette first came out a couple of months ago (I'm super behind on my reviewing, I know), my first thought was "wow, that's an interesting color scheme." For some reason, the shades in this palette really caught my attention. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't seen too many palettes with this sort of vibe. BH Cosmetics eyeshadow palettes haven't worked out too well for me in the past, but I was inspired by this color scheme, so I decided to purchase it anyway. I picked it up at Ulta; it's no longer available at Ulta, but it is for sale on the BH Cosmetics website. I do think it's limited edition though, so, if you want to pick it up, you should go get it soon. I've had it for a few months now, and I'm more than ready to review it, so let's get into it now: First of all, let's talk about the packaging. I think the packaging is beautiful. It's very sturdy cardboard, and it seems like it would be d...
