Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Cyber Fundays Haul

Everyone and their brother has been posting Black Friday haul posts and videos over the past few weeks, so I don't think this haul needs a lot of introduction.

Long story short, I took full advantage of the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales this year. As you can probably tell from the length of this blog post, I got a *little* carried away. All the products mentioned in this blog are from Ulta, ColourPop, and MAC.

Makeup

Goodness Glows Liquid Foundation in Porcelain by Burt's Bees - I bought this foundation during Ulta's Cyber Funday sale a few weeks ago. I've already written an entire review on this foundation, so I'm not going to talk about it very much. Long story short, I like this foundation. It has fairly light coverage, a glow-y finish, and it's quite flattering on the skin. It's not the most long wearing foundation on planet Earth, and it has a weird scent, but those are pretty minor complaints. If you like light coverage and have dry skin, I think this is the foundation for you.

Pressed Powder Shadow in Come and Get It by ColourPop - I have sort of mixed opinions about ColourPop's powder shadows. I like some of them and don't like others, but I tend to like their shimmer shades, so I think I'll enjoy Come and Get It. I've actually had my eye on this shade since ColourPop launched their powder shadows, but, for some reason, it took me until now to pick it up. It's a very unique shade; it's described as a "duochrome rose with a gold flip," and I don't think I have anything quite like it in my collection. I haven't really had a chance to play with it, but I think I'm going to love this shadow.

Lips

Vice Liquid Lipstick Comfort Matte in Unbroken by Urban Decay - To be completely honest, I was never very interested in Urban Decay's liquid lipsticks until they went on sale. I know that you shouldn't buy things just because they're on sale, but what can I say? I'm a sucker for lipsticks. Anyway, I decided to pick up a few liquid lipsticks while they were on sale. Unbroken is the first shade I picked up; it's an interesting shade. It's a dusty, purplish shade with pinkish undertones. The first few times I wore this shade, I wasn't sure if I liked it, but it's growing on me now. It's definitely a bold shade. I think the formula is fine. It's nothing extraordinary, but it's fairly long lasting and pigmented, and it's fairly comfortable.

Vice Liquid Lipstick Comfort Matte in Crimson by Urban Decay - As I said above, I decided to pick up some Urban Decay liquid lipsticks during Ulta's Black Friday sale. The formula of these liquid lipsticks is nothing extraordinary; they're fairly long lasting, very pigmented, and fairly comfortable. As liquid lipsticks go, this formula is pretty standard. I do, however, love this shade. Crimson is a fantastic, beautiful, bright, true red. It's not oxblood red, not orange red, not wine red; it's red red (if you know what I mean). I definitely see myself wearing this liquid lipstick a lot.

Vice Liquid Lipstick Metallized in Shadowheart by Urban Decay - In general, I'm not big on metallic lips or lipsticks, but I was in the mood to try something different, so I pick up an Urban Decay metallized liquid lipstick in the shade Shadowheart (which is a great name, BTW). I have to say that this color is pretty out there; it's a deep brown base with a ton of golden glitter. It's fine on its own, but it looks really fantastic over a red lip liner. This is definitely a bold lipstick, but it gives an interesting effect. In terms of formula, it's not as long lasting as the comfort matte liquid lipsticks, but it holds up pretty well.

24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Broken by Urban Decay - To be completely clear, I never would have picked up an Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil if they weren't on sale. The regular price is just too expensive. But I've been on a lip liner kick lately, so I decided to grab a few of these pencils while they  were on sale. I haven't used these liners very many times, but I don't think they're out of this world or anything like that. They're very ordinary. In fact, the ColourPop lip pencils are almost certainly better. This particular shade, Broken, is a good nude for me. In fact, it's almost the exact same shade as my natural lips. This is the sort of liner I would use with sheer lipsticks or lip glosses.

24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Manic by Urban Decay - As I said above, I don't think the formula of the 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil is anything special; they're a little dry and not super pigmented. However, I do love this shade. I mean, let's be real, I live for shades like this. This is a perfect, nude toned pink; I'll definitely get a lot of use out of this shade.

24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in 69 by Urban Decay - Believe it or not, I did not have a true red lip liner until now. I had a few dark red liners and an orange red liner, but nothing red red.  I would say that this is a good, basic red lip liner. The formula isn't amazing or anything out of the ordinary, but it'll get the job done for your red lipsticks.

Lippie Stix in Lumière by ColourPop - At this point, I don't remember what sort of sale ColourPop was having on Black Friday/Cyber Monday, but it must have been pretty good because I got a LOT of stuff. Anyway, ColourPop's stuff is so cheap to begin with that adding any discount makes it practically free (at least, that's what I tell myself). Anyway, I've been a big fan of KathleenLights for years, but I don't  have many of her lip collabs with ColourPop. At least, I didn't have many until now. I decided to grab all of the ColourPop X KathleenLights collabs that I thought I might conceivably wear. Honestly, I don't know why I didn't have them before. As I wrote in one of my first ever posts on this blog, I'm not the biggest fan of the ColourPop Lippie Stix formula. However, it's been a while since the last time I tried it, so I decided I would give the Lippie Stix formula another chance, and I picked up Lumière by KathleenLights. Now, this isn't a new shade at all, so I don't think I really need to talk about it, but it's a beautiful, blue-toned pink. I haven't worn it yet, but I'm all about a good pink, so I'm keeping an open mind.

Lippie Pencil in Viper by ColourPop - As I said, I stocked up on ColourPop stuff during their Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale. I really love ColourPop's Lippie Pencils -- which I use as lip liners -- so I decided to grab a bunch. I picked up the shade Viper, because I have the liquid lip version (I can't remember if it's a satin or a matte), and I absolutely love it. This is another fantastic pink, and I already know that I'm going to get so much use out of it.

Lippie Pencil in Bumble by ColourPop - Speaking of Lippie Pencils, I also picked up a Lippie Pencil in the shade Bumble (that name will always remind me of Oliver Twist). As I said, I really like ColourPop's Lippie Pencil formula. Their pencils are super creamy and pigmented, and they apply so nicely. Bumble is a warm toned pink with a hint of peach. As you may have guessed by now, I like my pinks.

Lippie Pencil in Lumière by ColourPop - As I mentioned above, I picked up the Lumière Lippie Stix, so, of course, I had to pick up the matching Lippie Pencil. I think the Lumière pencil is a bit more peachy than the Lippie Stix, but it's still a beautiful pink, and I think I'll get a lot of use out of it.

Lippie Pencil in Aquarius by ColourPop - As I said above, I wanted to grab as many KathleenLights X ColourPop collabs as possible, so I picked up the Aquarius Lippie Pencil. The pencil version of Aquarius is kind of a nude, pinkish, peachy color. I think it'll be a good liner for nude lipsticks, and I think I'll get good use out of it.

Ultra Matte Lip in Aquarius 2 by ColourPop - I know that a lot of people dislike the ColourPop Ultra Matte formula because it's so dry. Personally, I'm not really bothered by it. I prefer theUltra Satin lip, but I like the matte formula as well. It's long lasting, pigmented, and fairly easy to apply. True, it is a very dry formula, but I don't mind that very much. If you wear a lip balm underneath, you won't be bothered by it at all. I picked up a couple of the Ultra Matte Lips, including the shade Aquarius 2. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm intrigued by this shade. It's a really interesting brownish, pink shade, and I think it's going to be absolutely gorgeous. I don't think I have anything else like this in my collection, so I'm excited to try it out.

Ultra Matte Lip in Lumière 2 by ColourPop - I struggle to find wearable purple shades, so I'm excited about Lumière 2 because I think it might be the casual purple I've been looking for all these years. As you can see, Lumière 2 is a pinkish, greyish, berry toned purple. Did I use enough adjectives? It's a very interesting shade, and I'm excited to try it out.

Ultra Matte Lip in Take Five by ColourPop - I think ColourPop must have gotten slammed with orders over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend because it took them quite a while to ship my order. In fact, about a week later, I ordered the ColourPop X KathleenLights Dream St. Palette (more about that later), and that order actually shipped first, so that gives you some idea of how long it took me to receive my order. Anyway, ColourPop gave me a free Ultra Matte Lip because they were late shipping my order. If ColourPop is going to give me free stuff every time they're late with shipping, they have my permission to ship all my orders late for forever. I got the shade Take Five, which was apparently released in August as a limited edition product to celebrate ColourPop reaching 5 million followers on Instagram. Anyway, it's a lovely, rose toned mauve, and I don't think you can get it anymore, so I'm excited to have it.

Ultra Satin Lip in Aquarius by ColourPop - I think the Ultra Satin formula is my favorite lip formula from ColourPop. It's comfortable, long wearing, pigmented, fairly easy to apply, and it doesn't transfer very much. Essentially, it's a cross between a normal lipstick and a matte liquid lipstick. I think it's a fantastic and flattering formula, but I don't think this shade is going to be very flattering on me. Aquarius is a light, peachy nude. I haven't tried it yet, but I think it might be a tad too light for me. However, I think I could definitely use this shade for layering and mixing, so I'm excited to play with it.

Sprays

Facial Spray With Aloe, Herb and Rosewater by Mario Badescu - Lately, I've been trying out a lot of  setting sprays, priming sprays, and sprays in general. I have two thoughts about this particular spray. 1) The spray is great. 2) The sprayer is terrible. This is a great, refreshing, spray, and it smells fantastic, but you can't use it if you already have makeup on (even though the product description says you can use it to set your makeup) because the sprayer is terrible. When you spray this on your face it basically feels like rain drops hitting your skin, and it ruins your makeup. Obviously, it's important for setting sprays to be a fine mist, not drops of liquid. This is great to use under makeup or on no makeup days, but don't buy this if you're looking for a setting spray.

Fix+ Snow Ball Kit by MAC - Fix+ is my OG favorite setting spray. I know that there are a ton of new setting sprays on the market these days, but, in my opinion, not one of them can touch Fix+. So, when I saw that MAC was coming out with a Fix+ kit for the holidays, I got really excited. This $20 kit has three mini bottles of Fix+ in lavender, rose, and coconut scents. Seriously, can you imagine anything better? I haven't tried any of these yet, but I'm planning to bring one of the mini bottles with me when I travel for the holidays. I think this is a fantastic kit, and I might even buy a back up before they discontinue it.

Skin Care

Smoothie Star Body Milk Lotion by Soap & Glory - I'm a big fan of Soap & Glory lotions and body creams. All of their lotions feel very nourishing on the skin; plus, they smell great and the scent lingers on the skin fora long time. One of my friends in college had this particular lotion, the Smoothie Star Body Milk Lotion, and I always thought it smelled great on her, so I thought I'd pick it up. This lotion has a faintly sweet almond scent, which I think is very understated yet feminine. I highly recommend all Soap & Glory lotions, especially this one.

Facial Cleansing Towelettes with White Tea Extract by Burt's Bees - These makeup wipes are a repurchase for me, and I plan to continue repurchasing them in the future. They're cheap, smell great, and do a great job of removing makeup. You can take off an entire face of makeup with just one of these wipes, which is always a plus for me. They're also very gentle on the skin. I highly recommend these wipes.

Daily Facial Cleanser by Cetaphil - I actually did not order this product; I got this as a deluxe sample with one of my Ulta orders. Honestly, I don't know anything about this product and haven't looked it up at all. However, it's the perfect size for travel, so I think I'm going to take it with me on my Christmas travels. I'm looking forward to trying it out!

Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser by The Body Shop - This was a total impulse buy. I didn't really need a new facial cleanser, but I thought it was a handy thing to have around; plus, I'm always happy with products from The Body Shop. I haven't tried this cleanser yet, but I have high hopes!

Tea Tree Oil by The Body Shop - This was another total impulse buy. As I said above, I'm usually a fan of Body Shop products, so I thought I'd pick this up. Apparently, tea tree oil is good for blemishes. According to the product description, "Tea Tree Oil can be used in many different ways to help soothe blemished skin." Quite honestly, blemishes aren't a huge skin concern for me, but I thought it sounded like an interesting product. I'm looking forward to trying it out!

Hair

Defrizzing Coconut Cream Curls Define + Defrizz Smoothie by Marc Anthony - I've written before that I have difficult hair to style. I'm always struggling with dryness and frizziness, so I thought that this sounded like the perfect product for me. I've only used it once, but it seems like a pretty good product thus far. It definitely reduces frizziness and makes hair more manageable; you also get a ton of product for the money, and a little goes a long way. I haven't used this enough to have a firm opinion, but it's a promising product.

Naturals Tahitian Gardenia Flower & Mango Butter Curl Defining Detangler by Not Your Mother's - I think this is going to be a holy grail hair product for me. I struggle a lot with tangled hair and, consequently, am always yanking hair out. Recently, I've taken to spraying a little of this on my hair every time I brush it, and that's helped me a lot. I highly recommend this if you struggle with tangled hair.

Whip It Up Cream Styling Mousse by Not Your Mother's - I decided to pick up a styling mousse because one of my cousins suggested that it would help me with my frizzy hair situation. My first impression of this mousse is that it's not for the faint of heart. It has a LOT of hold. I don't usually use hair mousse, so I don't have much to compare this product to, but, overall, I think it's a good mousse. A little bit certainly goes a long way.

Tools

All About That Glow Strobing Set by Real Techniques - Real Techniques released a bunch of limited edition brush and sponge kits for the holidays; I wanted several of them, but I waited too long to purchase them and was only able to grab the All About That Glow Strobing Set. This set contains two double ended brushes -- ostensibly for highlighting -- and two sponges: a Miracle Complexion Sponge and a Miracle Mini Eraser Sponge. I've tried both sponges in the past; in fact, I use them on almost a daily basis. I have no complaints about the brushes, although the tapered brush is definitely better than the angled brush. I definitely see myself using these brushes for various face powders in the future. As evidenced by the fact that I use these sponges almost everyday, I can confidently say that both sponges are great. I usually use the orange sponge for foundation and the purple sponge for concealer. If you can still get your hands on it, I think this is a great kit.

Eye Shade + Blend Duo Pack by Real Techniques - I'm of the opinion that one can never have too many brushes (especially because I hate to clean my brushes). Real Techniques brushes are affordable to begin with, and they're even more affordable when they're on sale, so I decided to grab this little set of eye brushes. I've used these brushes a few times; neither are favorites, but they're useable and they're cheap. I have other eye brushes in my collection that I prefer, but I'm not mad at these brushes.

Perfecting Blender Duo by EcoTools - I've heard a lot of good things about these beauty sponges, so, when I saw that they were on sale, I decided I had to try them. So far, I have mixed feelings about these sponges. I love the shape of these sponges and I love that they have flat sides, but these sponges are a little firm for my taste. I feel like they're not squishy enough to apply foundation properly. I am of the opinion that you have to break new sponges in a bit, so I'm reserving final judgement for now.

Let me know what you picked up on Black Friday in the comments!
