November Favorites
November was a busy month for me. I feel like I say that every month, but it's really true. I've been traveling for Thanksgiving and generally getting ready for the holidays. Thus, I haven't been being too adventurous with my makeup lately. However, I do have a few favorites to share this month:
I'm Glistening (Snowball Collection) by MAC - As I said in a previous blog post, I don't usually buy many holiday products from makeup brands because I'm often disappointed in them. There are, of course, some exceptions. MAC's holiday collection this year was a BIG exception for me. It's just such an incredibly beautiful collection; the packaging is to die for. You really have to see it in person to understand how lovely it is. Unfortunately, it sold out before I got a lot of the stuff that I wanted, but I'm hoping they'll restock. Fortunately for me, I did manage to get the thing that I wanted most: the lipstick in I'm Glistening. I'm Glistening is a gorgeous brown toned shimmer packed with purple, pink, and gold glitter. It's an incredibly beautiful shade -- especially if you're a cool-toned person, like me -- and this is coming from a person who usually hates shimmer lipsticks. I highly recommend this shade.
CoverAll Crème Foundation (Fair) by Wet n' Wild - The first time I tried this foundation I was confused because it's called the "cover all" foundation, yet it has very light coverage. Honestly, I had to use this foundation a few times before I decided if I liked it. At first, I didn't like the coverage, and I didn't like the finish, but it's grown on me. I think this is a good every day foundation because it's light and somewhat natural looking (as much as makeup can look natural). The only downside is that the shade selection is absolutely terrible! I think this is a really good, cheap option for everyday use.
Photo Focus Concealer (Light Ivory) by Wet n' Wild - This concealer is an old favorite (and by old, I mean like 10-ish months ago) that I've rediscovered. In my opinion, this is one of the best concealers at the drug store. It gives great coverage, doesn't crease very much, blends beautifully, and has a great, bouncy texture. It gives a great finish on the skin, and I absolutely love it. I don't know what else you could ask for in a concealer. True, the shade range is atrocious, but the formula is great. I highly recommend.
Amazonian Clay Blush Palette Color Wheel by Tarte - I picked this product up last year from Tarte's holiday collection. The Amazonian Clay Blush Palette Color Wheel is -- as the name suggests -- a blush palette with eight blushes and two highlights. I used this palette a lot when I first got it, but, after a while, I sort of forgot about it. Recently, I dug it out of my blush drawer, and I've really been loving it. In particular, I love to mix the shades concept and icon or icon and ironic. This palette is also great for traveling, which is good for the holidays. Obviously, you can't get this particular palette anymore, as it was a limited edition holiday palette. However, Tarte released a similar palette this year, the Blush Bazaar Amazonian Clay Blush Palette. I'm not going to pick up the palette this year, as I have the palette from last year. However, I recommend this year's palette if you like Tarte's blushes.
Those were my favorites this month. Let me know what you were loving this month in the comments!
