Products I'm De-Cluttering in 2018
I know it's not spring (oh how I wish it was), but I decided to do some spring cleaning in my makeup collection, and I'm de-cluttering a few things. I don't often de-clutter products; if I spend money on something, I make a genuine and sincere effort to use it up. Still, sometimes you just have to throw things out or pass them along to someone else. That being said, these are the things I've decided to de-clutter from my collection:
Full Spectrum Palette by Urban Decay - I'm not mad at this palette, it's just that I never use it. I reviewed this palette about 11 months ago, but I've actually had it in my collection for longer than that. When I wasn't working in an office job, I used this palette fairly regularly because I did a lot of colorful eye looks; nowadays, I don't have occasion to do a lot of colorful eye looks, and, thus, I don't get a lot of use out of this palette. Besides, I have a ton of other colorful eye shadows scattered amongst all my other palettes. I do think think that this palette has some really unique and interesting shades (that green though!), but I know myself, and I know I'm not really going to use them. Meanwhile, I have a friend who wears colorful eyeshadow fairly often and loves UD. I know that she's going to get so much use out of this palette, so I'm going to pass it on to her.
Modern Watercolors Eyes Palette by Sephora + Pantone Universe - If you read my initial review of this palette, you know that I didn't like it. Thus, as you can imagine, I don't use it very often. In fact, I probably haven't used it in approximately a year. I don't want to go into why I didn't like it again because just thinking about going over it all again exhausts me. I'm also going to pass this palette on to the same friend that I'm giving the Full Spectrum Palette to; we'll see if she can get it to work for her.
Double Duty Beauty Empowered Hybrid Gel Foundation by Tarte - I really, really wanted to like this foundation. I think the idea behind this foundation is intriguing, but, in practice, never find myself reaching for this foundation. I'm not a huge fan of the texture; it's just too heavy for my taste. It does look nice on the skin, but I'm not comfortable with the way if feels on my face.
Infallible Total Cover Foundation (Classic Ivory) by L'Oréal - I've banned myself from purchasing matte foundations. I never like the way they look on my skin. I would say that my skin is fairly normal (not dry and not oily), but I feel like matte foundations look very heavy and dry on my face, and I'm not a fan of that. That being said, I do have a couple of matte foundations in my collection. I've been trying to use them up, and I have used quite a bit of this foundation. However, I have a friend that likes foundations like this, and I want her to try this one, so I'll be passing this along to her.
Limitless Lengths Lash Sculpting Mascara in Carbon Canyon by Fiona Stiles - I just can't with this mascara. I don't know if I got a bad tube or something like that, but this mascara is TERRIBLE. It has no redeeming qualities. It's super dry and clumpy, it doesn't apply evenly to the lashes, it's not lengthening, and it doesn't add volume. IT LITERALLY DOES NOTHING!!!! Obviously, I'm not going to give used mascara to someone else (and I don't know why anyone would want such a terrible mascara anyway), so this mascara is going in the trash.
Desert Explorations Geometric Highlighting Powder by Wet n' Wild - I'm on the record saying that I don't like Wet n' Wild highlighters. In my opinoin, they tend to me really glittery, chunky, and unflattering, and I'm not about that life. Even so, I'm doing my best to use up my Wet n' Wild highlights. However, I am going to be throwing this one away. I bought this highlight a long time ago from Wet n' Wild's website, and it arrived shattered. I contacted Wet n' Wild's customer service and tried to get a replacement highlight to no avail. In any case, I've been trying to use the shattered pieces of this highlight; it's extremely messy to use, and it doesn't look good on the skin, so I've decided that it's time to let this highlight go. I'll be throwing this away.
Let me know if you're de-cluttering any makeup in the comments.
